Review:
Ok, I have been playing for a little bit over 4 years and the reason I have the Empire is because it was included free with my Intimidator.
-The Empire is a descent barrel kit. I don't like the standard 14" front because I am a front player and I need to play tight. WHEN, hence when, I do break a ball (not often) I have a terrible time shooting through breaks. I usually have to hide for a minute and throw a straight shot through it. I am really interested in the Pipe System. My teamate owns one and from what I have seen day after day it has been much more consistant, accurate, and just better quality.
-This system doesn't have the smoothest bore finish either. Dont' get me wrong it is a descent kit, but not the best. I think it's better than the Freak because you can't ding the inserts, but not as good as the Pipe because of the roughter bore finish, and how you are not able to shoot through breaks well.
-Note that I didn't compare noise, and looks because as far as I am concerned if it works awesome and are able to hit where you want when you want, who cares what it looks like. The noise factor really has no effect playing speedball, besides I'm 20 and already deaf from my car system so that doesn't really matter.. haha.
Conclusion:
It is an alright kit. If you can't afford the top, get this over the freak. Its cheaper and you can't ding the inserts. But if your debating between this and the pipe, go with the pipe, hands down.
