Review: In 2002 Macdev had discontinued the Racer.
I wanted one regardless.
In 2004 Macdev removed the 03 Sonic from their website.

The marker is amazing, its milling is the same as the 2002 , and it has every Sonic upgrade that Macdev has/had made until 2004.

Simply it is a lovely marker.

In theory the software is telling me 43bps, whilst 28bps seems impossibly fast for a cocker.
Issues... the cocker just "rattles and rolls" the titanium cocking rod seems to always come undone - at the back block and at the ram thread.

The metal chromed ANS eye covers protrude with their soft plastic liners to block out light, and they are firmly attached... ie., screwed and glued down.

This makes it impossible to field strip the marker if you somehow get a breakage. I have an extra long macro hose to blow the eyes out if this happens.

Giving it to a beginner they can immediately shoot this marker without learning all the fancy finger tricks.

If you can get a Sonic Racer... you wont want anything else.

Conclusion: I recommend this to anyone that wants an electro cocker.
If you can get one!!!!
10 out of 10

An easy way to eliminate the cocking rod becoming loose is to add Loc-tite to the threads. Don't worry about being able to take it apart, your mom's hair blower should do the trick should you ever need to take the rod out
