Products Used:
Tippman a-5 double trigger, a-5 single trigger and Innovative Wrks viper trigger for the 98c.
Marker Setup: a-5 w R/T, Flatline, polished internals, Dead on Paintball drop forward and vertical adaptor, 3a expansion chamber and Innovative Wrks Assassin guard with Tippman double trigger.
Strengths: Looks AWESOME, VERY EASY to install and a nice light feeling trigger.
Weaknesses: Made of aluminum, easy to bend and not compatible with response trigger setup.
Review: I was sold on this set just on sheer looks. It just looks bad *ss. Installation was a bit difficult. The guard I had dropped right into place whereas the trigger required some massaging to fit. Please retain your stock u-clip and spring from your original trigger as you will need them on this. The trigger was a bit too tall on the top. This did not allow the trigger to reset fully and required that you push the trigger forward manually. When compared to the stock piece it was obvious that there was almost a full 1/8th of an inch that had to come off in order to fit. As I filed and refit, The trigger would reset itself more and more, However I noticed that due to the extremely soft material the trigger was made of, the R/T's gas chamber was making an indent where it touched/pushed the trigger. This was not an overly large issue until I filed enough to allow the R/T to function properly. The gas chamber after a few rounds would hang up on the indent it made. The made the marker stop functioning. No way around it. I removed the Assassin piece and reinstalled my stock double Tippman trigger and everything was better. I did however leave the trigger guard on(love the look). I did have a stock non R/T grip and installed the Assassin trigger on it. It works flawlessly on the non R/T piece as I am sure it will most likely work on the E-grip as well. (I don't have one)
Conclusion: If you have a stock grip or a E-grip this setup is for you. It looks great! Feels good and I found it a bit easier to pull than the stock pieces.I get compliments on it all the time. If you have a R/T I do not recommend getting this trigger/guard setup unless you just want the guard on the gun. The trigger will most likely hang up the gun and cause a bunch of grief. Please check with Innovative for updates. Just because of looks, I give this a 7, only a seven because it isn't compatible with the R/T setup and was not told that when purchased by Innovative.
