I picked up my ion at our field store this morning and the first thing i did was adjust the trigger. It only took a couple of seconds then I put in the battery put on the airtank and dry fired about a tank through it. I then went to the chrono table and tried to put on my halo. It didn't fit. After it didn't fit I then grabbed another hopper and tried it. Again it wouldn't fit.
Finally I got fed up and grabbed the clamp feed off of my impulse. I filled the hopper and turned on the gun. All I can say is wow. Out of the box my chrono readings were 297, 294, and 295. Since it was good on speed i just let it rip. The stock barrell was nothing special but it was allright. I put on the pipe and it was ball on ball the rest of the day. I had originally bought the ion for my backup but as of now i am going to use it as my primary. The air efficiency isn't the greatest but the ion is definetely worth the 300 dollars that it cost. People may say that it is a "noob gun" but the ion is a great gun and so far have had no problems at all with it.
Conclusion:
This gun is well worth the money and i would reccomend it to anyone looking for a good gun at a great price
He prob. gave it an eight, based on the weaknesses...duh. If he didn't have his imp there, he would not have been able to use the marker until he bought a new feed neck. The stock barrel is part of the gun, and as such was included as a weakness in the review. If a gun comes with a good stock barrel, it should be rated high(er), so by extension, a gun with a mediocre barrel should be rated low(er).

ya, in case you didn't notice the gun is 300 dollars obviously the barrel and feedneck arn't ganna be the best. Its a little thing called upgrading....TARD
the purpose of this feedneck is to fit a wide variety of hoppers (including halo). there are orings in the feedneck that can be removed or added for different hoppers, also the halo's feedneck is purposely made big to be sanded down for non adjust feednecks, to make sure that it will always fit. I just dont like to sand it down, so id just remove an oring . . . .

buy a better feedneck if it bothers u that much. and like u said, halo's are meant to be sanded, so sand if u have to
