Recommended Barrels:
i used an old 1 piece ultralite (688 bore) and had a few fall outs but not many
Strengths:
Smaller bore
breaks well on impact
Weaknesses:
Too weak shell
thin fill
Review:
First experance
when xball was released my boss brought down a few cases and was so excited about so we took it out and jsut borke a few on the ground his first reaction was "AWWW dude the fill is thin" so ok thin fill but priice was decent for it.
we have carried it for a wahile now alot of peole like it but from what ive seen when others are using it it has settled out some, has some dimples and breaks in their barrels to much.
two my team mates cant even shoot it out of their markers (a angel fly special edition using his stock 689 barrel and the other using an allias timmy with the stock barrel) becaue they get so many breaks in their barrels
then yesterday i got a case of gold for a day of rec ball up at a field around where i live cause hey were out of the other brands that day. most of the day it shot ok, there was a little wind but wasnt effecting it more than other brands i shoot. (now im playing rec/scenario so im not jsut diving in to bunkers im powersliding down long hills, and rolling around and stuff so my pods are getting some hard hits to them but i almost never get a broken ball in my pods) i got 2 pods with broken paint in them, one of them i did drop but the other i dont remember droping it ever (i did powerslide with it in i think so that might have done it).
i also noticed yet again that the gold hsa a thin fill but it stoped setteling out now so idk if they fixed it or what. I did get about 5-7 barrel breaks in the ultralite and the paint was jsut to small for me to be able to shoot through the break like i can with chronic.
Conclusion:
Overall a decent paint, i dont recomend it for tournement play, hard play, or anything that is a super critical game (i.e. main squad assaulting 10Xs as many people as u have in a scenario, the finnals in a tourney, etc) because the paint jsut wont hold up to ur play and will slow u donw my breaking in ur barrel
it did have a pretty round and decently consistant bore so that was a plus.
the breaks take away 2 points, the fill takes away another and dimples takes away 1, consistancy gives 1 back so ill give it a 7 but if u want good paint for teh same price get chronic
yeah i agree with you 333.....Chronic and Xball Silver sell for about the same at most places.....heck.....ppl who buy the gold spend more money on the Xball than on chronic
