Review: I got my Tippmann 98 Custom Pro with e-Trigger 3 days after xmas. WOW! i started to walk the trigger, and damn this ting is Fast! it sno DM6 or Shocker, but it would give one a run for there money. The next day i got my lil' 9oz tank and screwed it in. No leaks. i put the ROF to highest and put it on Turbo. DAYYYYMNNNN! this thing is LOUD! and FAST!i blew through that tank in about 3 minutes. But even though its a new 98, its still a gas hog. let me clear up the firemodes for everybody

Single-1 shot for every pull
Response-1 shot for every pull and release
3 round burst-3 shots for every pull of the trigger
Full Auto-hold the trigger and point at closest victim
Turbo-aka Ramping-start pulling the trigger faster than 4 pulls a second and it goes on Full
Auto, but you gotta keep on pulling the trigger.

January 4th 2006. we had a little game of woodsball there were 8 of us. i had forgotten to take it off response the night before and i started dry firing a bit and everyone was all DUDE ZOMG TURN THAT THING ON SEMI. they were all using spyders(laff). so i thought i had put it on semi, but i had put it on Full Auto. the first round of the day starts and we go across the creek. Shane tries to rush us and gets Lit Up by me. he was PISSED! i claimed i was just walking the trigger relleay fast. That round i used a full hopper and 3 pods. over 600 rounds. belive me folks, not unless you bring 3 cases of paint dont expect to play for very long on full auto. also, with the grav hopper it chops about as bad as a Spyder. 2nd round comes along and i put it on semi. much less chopping but a 20oz only lasts you about 800 rounds if it is 60 degrees and u like to shoot fast.

(Zap Spanks work wonders in this marker, break every time. Full auto would be only for demos, and bragging about how fast ur tippy shoots other than taht keep it on semi.)

later on , i got my friends 12volt revvy for 30 bux WOW what a diffrence this makes. 0 chops on semi, and i can walk around 13/15 bps. just a tip though never use moster balls, alwasy curve and break in barrel.

the first problem i saw was chopping. if you have the ROF all the way up and no matter what mode you have it on, you are gauranteed chops. do compensate for this put the ROF to around 10bps and keep it on single if you are using the gravity hopper. to bypass this, get a 12volt revvy with X-Board.

Gas Efficency: its a tippmann, and its a Gas Hog. on a colder day expect your tank to freeze up at least once. i am guessing around 800 shots from a 20oz tank on a day colder that 65F. to compensate for this, get a LP kit,Palmer Stabalizer, and a Anti-Siphon. and avoid cold weather and shooting more that 25 balls at once(on a cold day)

my tippmann came uncocked 4 times. it wil look cocked, but it will not fire. just bull the cocking knob back and it should work again. i only belive this was due to Liquid Co2, and repeated firing. i think the marker wasnt cycling properly and could get the bolt cocked back all the way.

Conclusion: Wow, tippmann has done it again. this marker will easily own any E-Spyder, lesser tippmann, and it would give all those fancy 500+ makers a run for there money
if you are looking for a new marker, an upgrade from you terrible spyder, something more reliable than a autocockeror Ion and want to spend 300 dollars, the Tippmann 98 Custom Pro with E-Grip should be your choice.

p.s. they sell upgrade boards allowing your tippmann to shoot 25bps!
9 out of 10

The only reason you will chop with a high ROF is because you're using a gravity feed hopper.
