Excellent protection.
Very comfortable (for a neck protector).
Weaknesses:
Can get a little hot.
The Smart Parts label can't be easily removed.
Review:
One of the best paintball items I've purchased!
It's very comfortable to wear, and you really feel like it's going to protect your neck (unlike the many other neck protectors that feel like flimsy pieces of cloth). It does get a little hot after running around all day, but all neck protectors have this problem. I still feel it's well worth the slight discomfort.
The first time I played, I took it off, because I was getting too hot... should've taken off the extra t-shirt instead, because sure enough, in the very next game, I got hit in the neck (at about 6 feet) by an idiot "friend" (AFTER the ref ruled me out and I was in the process of standing up to walk off the field).
Anyway, since then, I've been hit in the neck twice while wearing this, and both times, all I felt was a slight thud. No pain, and most importantly, no welts.
I highly recommend this over the JT offering, which is nearly worthless.
Conclusion:
Buy this!
The only reason to not wear this, is if you feel more manly by having a hicky-like welt on your neck.
Only reason im leaving this in a comment is because i wont say enough to write a review.
Over the past 3 years of playing paintball I have only ever been hit in the neck once. I dont understand how you get hit inthe neck so much, either you were wearing a really short mask, or have a really long neck. (not trying to make fun of you, seriously)
Also the one time i was hit in the neck i was 15 and it was from about 10 feet away. What im getting at is that there was no bruise or wealt. it surprised me but that was it. I dont really see the point to a neck protector.
Again, im not trying to make fun of you in any way but then again i take some sort of weird and demented joy in getting hit.
