I used one of these that someone had on a fill station and it was awesome. so i bought one. the machining tolerancese were so sloppy that it leaked around the valve core. also the plug was not installed right so it leaked too. so the shop gave me another one. it leaked out of the box but after fiddling worked for most of a day before it had the same problems.
I since have seen 6 total. 2 had the same problem as mine. one worked fine. the one on the fill station broke down a couple of weeks later.
also the front only gas port is a nuisance. I use either a unimount or a very short rail (maybe 1.5 " forward.) this leaves no room inbetween the macro fitting and regulator (and makes steel braid totally impossible.)
It was also very thick metal which made it very bulky and suprisingly heavy.
It does not have a purge function.
it is dovetail only. it should come with a mini dovetail or scew holes so it is universal.
If it had worked i would have loved it. My checkit unimount is too stiff to turn once it is aired up (and my wgp unimount copy works great!?!?) My redz on/off is kinda inbetween.
The empire quick flip is effortless. That is absoltely lovely, if the bugger works.
another nisanse about it was that there were only about 5 degrees of rotation (with the tanks I used) that was off. the little handle pointed slightly down in this position, which meant that if i Degassed and set the gun down it usually bumped the handle a little partially opening the pinvalve and regassing my gun.
The coolest feature is how easy and definite on and off(well not so much for the off) are. you don't think you have your air tuned on and fire 15 shots on the break and have to give a knob another twist. that's awesome |

If National had better quality control this would get a 7 or 8, but the quality makes it a 1, because they work well when they work, it gets a total of 2. My redz would get a 6 and my unimount would be a 5to 6 for comparision. |
