Review:
I got this barrel for my friend ( birthday) for his Model 98C, as soon as we got to his house we tried it...and I've got to say that it is an OK barrel...but I brought both my Icon E and an 68 Automag ( which belongs to my sister's fiancee, who was lending it to me)
My Icon E ( which many people say bites) actually did pretty well when compared to the Model 98 with the Linear barrel....and I was using the stock barrel....ouch....
The Automag kicked his 98C.....and guess what....the Automag needs to be serviced....its leaking gas and not performing as well as it should...but it was still better than the 98c with the linear barrel....
Conclusion:
It is a good barrel.....just not TOO good....if my Icon's barrel can almost match its accuracy.....again ouch....but I have had people tell me that it is only this way with the 98c, so just understand that my review is only based on the barrel's performance with the 98c
I still suggest buying a more expensive barrel, like the Freak Jr. I have one of those and it rocks out loud

6 out of 10

quote:Originally posted by bytesrule I do not think you should review a product by comparing it to a completely different marker set-up....it's an automatic bias
the whole point of the comparison was to explain that this barrel managed to be beaten by a stock Icon E barrel and a leaky Automag with a barrel that has a huge bore, I was using paintballs that are smaller than .689 and the automag's barrel matches up with brass eagle wild streak! those paintballs are huge! I know I should've mentioned that before, but I didn't know how big the difference was.
but if you think I have made a bad review, why don't you go out and compare the Linear with a stock Icon E barrel and a big bore barrel ( make sure you use small paintballs) and I am sure you'll see what I mean
but thanx for bringing it up, I need to work on my reviews
Dispute: I have used this Barrel and it is way better than any of the five stock barrels I have used. The Linear is pretty much only bad on the Tippmans (no idea why) and I know that the barrel is accurate because I have shot people from at least 200 feet away with my sonix. You are right about it not being accurate, but it is only not accurate when used on certain guns and with certain paint.

ok then
I won't disagree with you. I was just giving a review based on what I used and how they compared.
Dispute: i have this barrel and have a 98 custom there is somethign wrong with your buddys gun if you think it sucks that bad i can get paint to hit the same spot at 100' with a double etrig and cyclone feed thrownin like 14balls a sec and it still is crazy accurate.
