| Review: |
At a first glance this kit was smooth. It comes in a nice, durable hard carry case with cut foam to protect the front and the five fin inserts. It also came with its own grease and ball sizer. Trying it out for the first time I was impressed over the chrono by the FPS consistency, +-2 fps, which was much better than any of the other barrels I owned at the time. It was also noticable quieter to those on the field in front of me and louder to me, Hammerheads claim that the porting diffuses sound back towards the shooter was proven.
I also noticed the effect of the rifling, the balls swerved to my left. Although the groupings with the curve were exceptionally good this was more than anoying on the mid to longer ranged shots that needed a stright trajectory, but it came in handy several times shooting around a bunker and hitting a player who was completely safe from any other painballs coming his way, much like the APEX sysem now does.
After testing the kit through various conditions and over some time I also noticed that the rifling does not clean through breaks well at all, but the accuracy and consistency is not as effected becasue the balls ride on the ridges of the rifling so cleaning through breaks is not always necessary. The rifling makes choosing good quality paint with a harder thicker shell a neccessity. The Evil I had used shot very well and the faster I shot the tighter the groupings got and the strighter they flew with less curve to the left, I found this interesting and amussing. |

| Conclusion: |
This is a good kit if you dont play on large fields or fileds with underbrush, on Airball this will give you shots you would kill to get in a tournament. It is paint finicky and I have owned better systems, but if you're looking for something quiet (to the other team), dont mind paying more to get better paint, and can pick one of these up for a good price it may surprise you. |
