Review:
i got the kit in the mail maybe a week ago... 1st things first powerlyte has the best customer service of any company i have ever delt with paintball related they well answer any question and help you out with any problem.
now for the review of the barrel...
case- the case kit comes with has a kinda cool shape to it its kinda triangular in a way it holds 7 inserts and three front and backs... its a case to carry your barrels it does its job its made well and your barrels or inserts wont get damaged.
first impression- since i had to 06 its pretty much the same thing just the inserts are now 4 inches and the barrel has a little more porting. its very light compared to my sm1 barrel i think the craftsmanship on the sm1 is a little better but you cant take nothing away from the scepter
test- when you but the barrel together its real easy just but the insert you want in and screw in teh front and it locks the barrel inside and a really smooth finish i mean smooth and it aligns perfect and its real light especially compared to the sm1. i shot some paintballs in the back yard some all stars and some cheap shrapnel paint and it shot both really well i even had a barrel break with the shrapnel since this paint sucks and it cleaned it out in 2 to 3 shots. the scepter is also a little quiter than my sm1 as far as accuracy i think there about the same with good paint to barrel match the scepter is alot easier to put together and take apart alot lighter and a little quieter. Overall this is probably my favorite barrel there nothing more you can ask for in a barrel and it priced not to high. im gonna test it on the field this weekend hopefully and add some more to my review.
Conclusion:
If your looking for a barrel i highly recomend this barrel it shoots great, cleans breaks , is light and quiet what more can you want and now they got different colors to match your gun. shoots straight, is light and accurate and great customer service.
I'd appreciate if you could compare the performance of the 06 and 07 more in depth(changes in efficiency compared as having to raise valve pressure to achieve same speed output),
specially the impact of the much shorter inserts now.
(as in: put the old, chrono to some speed, put the new, see the resulting speed)
i can really tell you about chrono yet i havent been to the paintball field yet with this barrel as far as the inserts being 4 instead of 6 i havent really seen a difference in accuracy it shoots straight as yell they told me they took it to a ballistics lab and had the old one tested with the new one and thats why they used 4 instead of 6 im not sure how true that is.. i can let you know about efficieny and hopefully this weekend if i get a chance to go paintballing i dont got the 06 no more i sold it i can compare it to the sm1
OK, I'm sure by now you've had a chance to find out more about this... Well? what's the scoop?
What size groupings are you getting, at what range?
Breaks?
Cleaning? (how many per thousand? do you need to remove it to get good accuracy again?)
Noise compared to stock?
Noise compared to buddies?
but my main interest is accuracy at long range.
i can tell you this thing is accurate as hell it shoots dart as far as distance from 30 to 40 feet i was ball on ball using blaze at about 75 feet it was a very small grouping only a few inches in diameter... i gave my gun to a friend to hold and he accidentaly pulled the trigger with the barrel plug on and in 4 shots i was shooting perfect again. i havent had any barrel breaks other than that and ive used it about 3 times so far.. its alot quieter than my sm1 barrel and the stock barrel. u said your main concern is accuracy and i can tell u its the most accurate barrel ive shot adn my friends who have ions and other guns say the same ive shot 15 dollar seconds to all stars and it shoots everything well.
