Products Used:
The standard "big red" and "little yellw" chronographs.
Marker Setup: 05 EgoW/ star frame and nexus bolt.
Octane Shocker W/ CP shorty reg, HE bolt, Tadao M6 board.
Strengths: Easy to read display. FPS and BPS. Multiple shot reading.
Weaknesses: My team-mates like to "borrow" it.
Review: This chronograph is a combination of all of the positive characteristics of the past industry standards. It combines the portability of the little yellw chrony with the accuracy and easy to read display of the big red. Then it does one better by reading not only FPS and BPS, but the average and hi/low FPS and BPS of a string of paint, up to 255 shots.
I couldn't help testing the accuracy of the BPS readout against the BPS display on my Ego. Not only was it very consistant with the gun's BPS display, but it is also more detailed. The Ego gives you BPS in whole numbers, such as 12 BPS. The chrony gives you a whole number plus a tenth, such as 12.7 BPS. Minor detail, but still cool, and the details make the difference.
This chrony is well built and solid, plus it has a wire stand for hands off operation. That combined with the fact that you don't have to reset it between shots makes for simple operation.
Conclusion: I love being able to tweak and tech my guns at home, especially the day before a tournament. This is the perfect chrony for the job, even though it is more than good enough to use as a field check in chronograph. Well worth every penny.
