This review is for the amber lense
STRENGHS
I've had my profiler for about 2yrs, and use all year. I have never really looked in my owners manual, but i did just for the heck of it. And it said, that if you breath on your lense, and it fogs up, that you should replace it. So i breathed, it fogged, and i got a new one. And I have never replaced the lense, until, I found out that you should replace it every 6months or unless it fogs up when you breath on it. I carefully chose the amber lense, since i live in Ohio, and its always couldy in the winter. And because, the amber lense supposingly makes things clearer and see shadows better in the woods. When i was playing, i had NO FOG WHATSOEVER. And i hope that its anti-fog coating will last longer then my other lense.
WEAKNESS
The price, is $20 dollars, its a little pricey, because the manual says that if u get shot in the face from 10ft to point-blank range, that you should replace it immediatley. And that would just suck i think, you get your new lense, and the first time you play with it, you get gogged and $20 is down the crapper.
Also, the cleaning thing makes me parinoid, since it sounds and is very tedious. The manual says, that you when clean the inside of the lense, to use warm water, rinse it carefully and slowly pat-dry it with a clean cloth, then let it air-dry. And while your doing this, if u even streak it, scratch it with a nail, or get more water, the anti-fog coating will go away faster then it should. But since, i'm a neat-freak when it comes to things like that, it can't stand it. |

| Conclusion: |
I recommend that you should get at least 2 new lense, such as a smoke, for sunny days, and a amber for cloudy. But the thing is, that my dealer told me that Vforce is coming out with a photocromatic lense, so that its clear, but when it gets sunny, that it starts to change into a dark lense. So its like those cool glasses, you walk out of a store clear, and they turn into sunglasses when you get outside. But the thing is, that its gonna be ex$pen$ive, cuz it literally is gonna be two lenses, so you probably pay double. And their trying to be able to make it fit a Grill and Profiler. So that will take some time. But other then that, i think that a new lense, is a worthy investment. |
