Its a hopper but it deflects paint. it looks cool but the paint inside makes it sound like a maraca. i would get thew sniper version or put something in it to make it less noisy.
i have had lots of paint deflect off one time i let my cuz use my a-5 i used a pump and i shot the hopper and it deflected off and shot him. So you can get hit if you have it at the right angle.
