Review:
I think the egg 3 is a realy good hopper and with a home made speed feed is great because with the stock lid it is hard to load and opening is awkward but still once u have the hang of it it is alright to use and maintain also cleaning is easy aswell.
Conclusion:
Realy good hopper

you do realize that that u can snap the lid in place in the open positioin so that it doesnt keep trying to close on ur hand while ur loading it. i thought the same thing u did until i figured that out im not sure if u think its awkward for another reason but i wouldnt see y other than not realizing the lid can stay open without having to hold it there
i thought the same about the loading door or lid or w/e but you can take the lid out by removing the pins that hold it there and remove the springs, then put it back together and now it opens and stays open without having to hold it down or snap it all the way down.
i find its a lot easier to load a pod in the hopper that way then when you have to worry about pushing it all the way down so it stays.
I love the door on this i crab a pod tilt the marker used the pod to open the lid and it closes itself without spilling I prefer this above speed feeders that you have to spill half your balls filling
