Review: well people last weekend i got the chance to try out one of the new Hyperdrive paintball Vlocity chips and this is how it went
Well james from Macdev gave me a buzz and said i should try out this new chip that he had got his hands on for the vlocity and having seen and used the gangster with out much luck personally, i was keen to give this new chip a shot
and as a added bonus it was already in a hopper ready to shoot
So quick drive over to Macdev had this little hopper in one hand and destructions in the other and away i went
40 Min later i get this bad boy home and open up the instructions for a quick read they were nice and easy to understand and i like the way the programing looked as it was the same kind used in my 07 borg and other boards like Nox and tado ,simple the LED has green, orange, red, red strobe, green strobe ,orange strobe and each colour was a parameter for a setting
green= speed setting from 1 to 10

solid orange=tension time from off to constant on in 10 steeps

solid red=tension force from 4% to 32% in 10 steeps

red strobe=hyperdrive mode ,this is a boost of power to the motor for a preset time after the loader is turned on and it detects movement in the ball stack from off to constant on in 10 steeps

green strobe=anti jam rip drive duration settings from .5/5 of a second to 5/120 of a second

orange strobe= auto power down time from 5 minutes to 1 hour in 10 steeps lets you chose how long it will sit idle for before switching its self off

So i have a play with the settings (IE i max them out ) and switch it on and bugger me the thing spins fast and i wait for Sunday to arrive
Well i used this hopper all day on Sunday and had no problems what so ever paint was always ready to feed never missed a shot and didnt have the eye issues ive seen with the gangster chip just rocked along all day with no hassles
Things i liked
1.Easy programming once you learn the colours and it also has 10 quick change settings that you can assess without havening to go into programing mode
2.Battery Life, shot a full case on the batteries that were already in it and still had plenty of voltage left but ill leave them in to they die and ill have a better understanding of expected battery life
3.the rip drive/anti jam function uses the eye logic to tell its self what to do if you push the unjam button (program button) for a length between .5 of a second and 1.5 seconds it gos into anti jam mode which if the eyes don't see paint it will reverse if the eyes see paint the will rip drive forcing the jam through
4. the selectable Auto power off its a nice feature to have just set it at idle for 5 min and it auto switches off so you will get a lot more battery life than normal
things i Didn't like
Well there wasn't much but
1. the hole pushing the program button for .5 to 1.5 seconds to get into anti jam mode because if you just tap it momentarily it wont do anything but if you hold it down for over 1.5 seconds it gos into the 10 quick change preset menu so just a little to hard to get right when you have blokes running at you should be just a momentary tap of the button gets the job done i think
Conclusion: So all in all i really liked this new chip easy to program seems to be good on batteries and really dam fast on the site it says free lifetime upgrades and lifetime hardware warranty so they must think the chips got the goods
ill give it a 9 because of the unjam function at the moment
Rating:
9 out of 10
