Review:
First off they are a bit expensive. However how much are you willing to spend to keep the are below the belt protected? If you play the sport long enough you will either have several close calls, or you will eventually get shot there. Myself I have had several close calls and decided it was time to get me a pair. At the time the C5 Slider Shorts were the only ones available in my area.
There isn't a lot of padding on the legs, but that was not my main concern. They have a thin high density foam insert for the front. In my opinion it is almost too thin. Even so they have saved me a few times now.
These slider shorts also have some padding in the rear to help out with some of the awkward dives needed to get behind the bunkers.
The C5 shorts are older and you may not be able to find them in too many places now. Dye has come out with a newer version of slider shorts.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for something that has protective padding that you can wear under your paintball pants these are a great buy. However I would look into the 2007 slider shorts. It gets a 9 out of 10 since the 07 shorts are on the market.
