Putting it on is simple, just remove the old lid and snap it in place. It works way better than the speed feed. When you use the speed feed, there is always a few balls that sit on top. But with the speed cap, you force the fingers down and so every thing you have in your pod goes in to your hopper. This is a highly recommended upgrade for your hopper.
