Does not help performance at ALL!!! Bends.... Way too long.... Wastes gas
Review:
This barrel does not do a thing in performance in any way at all. I'm not sure on the bore size, but I am for certain that when you put a .68 paintball in the barrel it rolls out with plenty of room to spare. The porting also keeps the barrel from saving any air at all to help in the range aspects. I thought it would be interesting to see if a 20" barrel could out range a 8" barrel. Nothing could be further from the truth. The 20" may have shot a foot or so further but that can't even for certain. On top of all this, the barrel is very easy to flex so I can't imagine that that could help in accuracy....... Save your money and buy a nice barrel...... This thing is garbage!!!
Conclusion:
Do not buy! Huge waste of money, I guarantee you will be disapointed if you purchase.
Dispute: It's a paintball barrel's length that increases accuracy - not range. That's determined by how fast the paintball is traveling after it leaves the barrel (velocity) and the spin (ie: flatline system). The porting exists to help reduce the acoustic signature of your shots. It does affect your gas usage a bit though. So if you're looking at increasing your range, either up your velocity (to as close to 300 fps) or get a flatline system.
As for the barrel flexing... you sure you bought a 20" Smart Parts Tactical 06 barrel? I've had it on my marker and as my barrel of choice for ten months longer than you've used it, and it's a very sturdy piece of design. And the pricing... it's below $50 - even from Smart Parts' online store. I got mine for $35 from another online paintball supplier.
