Will hold your macroline hostage
When it works, it's great. Mine, though it functions, does not work. If the macroline setup runs from the ASA to a horizontal elbow, then no problem. However if the reg has its gas port on the bottom (like the Detonator), you could be screwed.
The ASA's macroline port (phrasing?) is 1/2" below that of the reg's elbow, which will push something out of proportion if the macroline is tough/sturdy. If it's more flexible, then no problem.
Also, common sense tells you to tighten the screw (that holds it in place) a fair amount. Doing so, however, pushes the ASA down and damages the grooves that slide into each other. My Grenade is permanently angled down, with a gap of about 1/4" between the rail and macroline port.
Finally, don't expect to remove the macroline from the ASA. It has a solid grip which could be useful, but not in my case.
If you have flexible macroline (similar to the free 10" from ansgear.com), go ahead. If your macroline is stiff, don't use it with a bottom-port reg.
