My last main marker was a DM5 that I bought brand new. Yes, it had been a few years since a marker upgrade. This is my first poppet valve gun.
Marker Setup: I currently use an Ego 9. It started life Ninja Black but since I wanted it to stand out a little more, I gave it a laser tattoo. My hopper is a Dye Rotor (white) and my tank is a 45/45 Pure Energy with a Ninja Reg.
The Ego 9 shoots great out-of-the-box with great program modes so no upgrades needed. Perhaps a different bore size barrel for your specific size paintballs.
Strengths: Easy to program. Looks good.
Weaknesses: I honestly cannot find a weakness.
Review: I highly recommend the Ego 9 to anyone considering a purchase of a high-end marker. I considered buying the DM9 but wanted to try something other than Dye. After hearing and reading nothing but good things about Egos, I purchased the Ego 9. I truly have had no problems with it thus far. It's sleek, light, reliable, accurate, and easy to program! I also like the milling and overall design. A sweet looking gun is very important to me.
Conclusion: If you are considering a new high-end marker; buy the Ego9. It's an easy to use and sweet looking tournament marker.
