Black VSC Phantom w/ Black Stock
Everything on it is stock, except the
Ghost Detent Modification (GDM)
Strengths:
Very Cheap upgrade
Stops rollouts
Detents are easy to find (ego)
Weaknesses:
Easy to lose detent since they are small
Review:
To make things short, I have tested one of the modified phantoms and bought the modification which was done for me by the owner of the company. I have done extensive testing to ensure that the modification is viable and works. In one of the test i performed, I compared how many paintballs would rollout with and without the detent. Without the detent I had 8/10 rollout. When the detent was in 0/10 rolled out. In other words, it was perfect.
The main advantage of the modification is that it is cheap compared to getting a freak kit along with a new barrel, You are able to use the stock barrel which is already awesome.
Also, the detent allows the ball to fit snug against the bolt, help to seal the air around it, giving it slightly better efficiency. A barrel kit will help do this too, except when encountered by a deformed ball, a kit might have a partial rollout.
The reason for creating this modification is the fact that you can't trust the paint that you buy to be very consistent, especially when you are using field paint. I've had autococker with barrel kits on them, the freak kit was the best in my experience, yet there was still some paintballs that would rollout or have a partial rollout.
Conclusion:
The website is: http://www.phoenixpbdivision.webs.com for those who are interested in trying out this upgrade.
Also, to people who are going to ding me on the paint comment. I have used RPS paintballs, they are awesome and one of the only ones i really trust to be consisntent (premiums, marbs, etc).
