Review:
I didnt really like this gun when I had it!! It was always screwing up and When i tried to take it apart to see what the problem was I had a very frustrating time taking it apart. You can only get Smart parts gun parts for it and it only takes HPA or upgraded CO2, and personally I think that is a scam. They sell the gun for cheap and It dosent even take regular C02. Luckliy for me I live in an area where its pretty easy to get HPA for my guns but its not that way for everybody else!!
Conclusion:
I dont think people should by this gun if they want a cheap gun, because they are gong to end up spending a lot of time on repairs and upgrades
Not sure how you missed all those parts for the Ion that quite a few other manufactures make for the Ion. Now clearly your knowledge of paintball guns is lacking so i'll clear some stuff up for you. The reason you don't want to use CO2 is becuase of the guns design, the Ion isn't another mech blowback it is a full EP marker with a noid that can not handle CO2 very well. However though if set up right CO2 can be used without much if any danger to harming the gun so basically you can use CO2 on an Ion.
