Review: I bought a used two piece Carbon Sly barrel System and tested on a stock Eg0 09. I was sorely disspointed as the first thing I noticed was the sound signature of the marker seemed ti increase tenfold. I realise poppet valve guns are loud but with a plastic barrel they sound as if you have installed a megaphone on your gun. The range also seemed to be affected too. After chronoing at 290 fps with the Shaft II stock sytem then changing to the Sly I was shooting paint 30/40 yards less. Very odd. Changed back to the Shaft and all was fine again and the gun became quieter.
A noticeable downgrade from using this barrel system was the balance of the gun was upset massivley Ego is a light marker and manufactured with perfect swapping the stock to a Sly the gun semmed to left more when fired in a ramping mode and made posting more difficult.
Conclusion: Not for me. Perhaps more suited to a spooler

First off, Carbon Fiber isn't plastic, it's 7 times stronger than steel. Next, you loosing 120+ feet of range is impossible. Literally impossible. Physics simply doesn't allow two identical objects traveling at the same speed on the same trajectory to go different distances just because of a brand name.

This just isn't true. It is literally impossible. I have used this barrel quite a bit and haven't noticed anything at all that would even suggest this is even slightly true. The ONLY thing I would say is a possibility is that it is not a really quiet barrel. It isn't meant to be. It is meant to be light and it is very light. It made the front end of my marker feel as if it didn't have a barrel but it just didn't throw the balance off at all.

This review is obviously incorrect. It's impossible that two barrels shooting from the same gun with the same velocity and a similar paint to bore match are going to have such disparate results. This seems to me like unsupported brand bashing rather than a comprehensive review.

I agree with the noticable increase in loudness, my ego ten shoots much louder with the sly, however, every other aspect of this review is garbage. my range was not affected, and my accuracy was greatly improved.
