I used to have a '97 autococker that was heavily upgraded
Marker Setup:
ANS X5 Autococker (all ANS pnumatics and internals), BOA Concealer Barrel
Recommended Upgrades:
I dont know if I can think of any, it is awesome the way it came set up.
Strengths:
Accurate, fast, very quiet, and light.
Weaknesses:
Could use a better barrel.
Review:
I wrote a review for this gun years ago after I purchased it in 2007; it is worth a fresh review. Anyways, this is my favorite gun. I love mechanical guns, due to the fact I have been playing since '97 when cocker's and mags dominated and still do. I have an Angel (which is nice), but for a mechanical gun it can hold its own. I have had people at the field not know what this is and think that it was electronic do to the fact of its high rate of fire. It is accurate, quiet, and just looks good! I would recommend a good hopper for it as it will shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. The 90 degree trigger is nice and something you dont see anymore, especially on an autococker. ANS did a good job on this gun and if you enjoy mechanical guns this is it.
I would not recommend this to beginners or anybody who doesnt like to tweek guns as cockers can be high maintenance. It came set up from ANS perfectly and I have not had to adjust the timing since I purchased it. I would recommend adjusting the LPR; I have it adjusted that it will just pinch balls and not break them. This thing can keep up with electronics without killing a battery. It is too bad autococker's failed, but this was one of the last good cocker's made. If you can get your hands on one I would recommend it.
Conclusion:
This is an awesome marker and ANS did a good job on it. I would recommend a barrel, but the ANS barrel is suffient and good for a stock barrel. I have a BOA barrel and it makes this gun extremely accurate. Very fun to play with and something you dont see anymore.
