Tippman 98 Custom
12' Smart Parts Teardrop Front Barrel
anything medium bore
--Very accurate, like 150 ft. away, still within 3-4 inch diameter
--Long range, haven't tested maximum distance, but I havn't had to lob hardly at all
--Short enough for me (12'), but it does come longer (14' and 16')
--Cheap, I got it new on ebay for 35$
--Looks cool, mine has a blue/silver splash design on the front, while the back is black, it goes perfectly with my tippy
--Nothing so far, but I can foresee some q-tip use for the massive number of porting holes
Dispute: This review is the most preposterous tall tale I have yet read on this site. Accurate at 150 ft? With a 3-4 ich grouping? Really? What kind of top secret sniper scope do you use when you're arcing your shots at a 30 degree angle to shoot that far? Get real, dude.
And explain to me exactly how this barrel somehow makes the SAME paint fly further than other barrels shooting at the SAME angle and SAME velocity. A lucky gust of wind? Magic? Bullshet? Once a ball exits a barrel at 280-300 fps, common sense dictates it is no longer being affected by the barrel by any means, so I'm leaning towards the third explanation.
However, longer range CAN be achieved using heavier paint (DraxxusGold = ~ 4.3g), which maintains velocity longer than lighter paint can(MonsterBall = ~ 2.6g). Comparing the throwing characteristics of a golf ball to a balled up piece of paper of equal size easily puts this concept into perspective. More mass = more momentum. But unless your Big Daddy puts backspin on your paint, stop feeding hype and stop making stuff up.
