Review:
i mainly got the delrin bolt so i won't have to lube the bolt tip before each outing. the excess dow33 from lubing the stock bolt tip always get on the paint and in the barrel making the 1st 100 rounds curve. now the delrin bolt tip, breach, and barrel are free of the dow33 residue.
although the delrin material has very low friction property, you DO still have to slightly lube the two bolt tip o-rings as they are made of urethane, but only use a TINY amount of dow33 and none on the delrin bolt tip.
i did not notice any air efficiency changes nor did it let me shoot the same velocity at a lower pressure. but that's ok because my only expectation for the delrin bolt is for the reason stated above.
i ordered the version bolt tip which features a venturi style air holes. it looks exactly like the stock bolt tip except it's made of delrin.
note: you HAVE to use o-rings on this or any other after-market delrin bolt for the shocker. don't use tank o-rings as they will do not fit. just carefully remove the o-rings from the stock bolt tip. you could ask them to throw in couple of o-rings with your order.
smartparts also make delrin bolt tips for shockers, but for reasons unknown, it is not advertised anywhere. it costs $25 from smartparts.
some people say the delrin bolt "swells" and gets stuck in the breach if you lube it with dow 33 on a hot day. to put this rumor to a rest, i purposely coated the delrin bolt tip with dow33 and left the gun out in the sun for 4 hours. if the delrin bolt is going to swell at all, it'll happen under these extreme conditions. four hours later under the hot sun, the bolt was able to easily move back and forth in the breach. i screwed in my hpa tank and shot 500 rounds with no problems.
Conclusion:
get the delrin bolt tip if you:
1. don't want to keep lubing the bolt tip and get dow33 residue on your paintballs and inside of your barrel.
2. friction free bolt tip
do NOT get this bolt if you expect:
1. increased air efficiency
2. lower operating pressure
