Review: After seeing my cousin's friend's new green 2003 BKO I knew I had to get one. This gun really caught my eye because it was affordable and was such a great gun for the price. I ordered one from and was very happy... until I got it.

The first thing that turned me off was the not-so-good instructions that ICD gives you. They are Photo copied and are of poor quality. It also doesn't tell you a lot of stuff that you'd need to know like parts diagrams and such.. just little things really.

After reading through the manual a couple of times I put on a bottom line and went to gas it up. I then set of the regs. according to what the manual says (Which is a pretty bad way) After I got the regs set I noticed that I have already used 1/4 of my air somehow.. okay.. that was odd.. so I just went on. Put my hopper on loaded some paintballs then started to fire. The velocity was super high so I went to set the regs... fired to check the velocity then PPPPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH it had chopped and made the bolt stick the front position letting all the air out. Well that sucked.. I then had to get a piece of wood to pry the bolt back again.

I then took my gun to a local pro shop and they looked at my gun and found a number of problems wrong with it.
1) The bolt was to huge for the gun, just taking the bolt in and out left a crap load of bolt shavings everywhere.
2) There was MAJOR blow back and it might have contributed to the chopping
3) They said the gun looked like it was refurbished because of all the wear on the bolt and everything ( Had had not taken and bolts out or anything.. this was the 2nd day that I even had the gun.

They said I would have to probably buy a Vapor Bolt, Valve, HIgh Rise, and a better hopper.. at least $140 more then what I spent. $270 is a lot for me.. I wasn't about to spend $140 to get something to work right when it should have worked right in the first place. I was mad.. I contacted and they couldn't help us. Then I contacted ICD via E-mail and 2 weeks later they havn't even replied.. bad customer service.. (Or very unlucky?)

After waiting for a while I saw the SP mod and decided to try it out.. I just hope that it fixes the problems. I am pretty disappointed with my gun but it may have just been a bad batch. My Cousins friends one was very, very nice. OH well..
Conclusion: This is a good gun, I just got a bad batch. What really pisses me off though is the lack of help from ICD and . I really hate paying even more money for something that should have been fine in the first place. Unless you arn't on a fairly strict paintball budget then you wouldn't understand. Maybe you'll have better luck with it.. who knows.

Hey have you tried to call them and talk to them about the problem? (208)468-0446. I have had no trouble with the one that I bought here recently. I have noticed that if I shoot it without paint it does seem to use a lot of air. The BKO isnt supposed to allow the marker to fire over 300pfs. I have called and talke to ICD about a few things that I was unsure about and they were more than happy to talk to me about the issues that i had. The shavings in the upper reciever and the marks on the bolt , are they on the top of the bolt? After about 1000 balls I had trouble getting the bolt out of the upper reciever and I noticed that were the carrier pin is ,the thing that locs the bolt to the hammer, it had put a bur in the metle, nothing that you could not take out with a piece of machine paper. Anyway sorry about your bad luck, let us know how that SP mod works out, take care.

I'm waiting for the followup information????
Seems like you wrote a review about all the trouble you were having with SERVICE issues, but what now? Did you ever hear from ICD? Did they fix the problem? Did you fix the problem? Was is all bad dream? What's the end of the story....?

Seriously, I have a BKO in my stable of paintguns and it's a great gun, but you will allways have to upgrade this type of marker. I have a Bob Long reg. on mine and of course a dye Boomstick. The gun is fast, quiet, accurate and well made.

I dont agree with what this man has posted. I have a BKO and it is kept up great and played in tournaments and kicked butt. It chopped a couple of balls but it was because I out shot my hopper. I would just recommend a new barrel like a dye boomstick and a new hopper like a HALO backman. Its only 69.99.

buddy sounds like you got a bad batch indeed. do not yell at ICD, or be angry with them for the fact. you bought it from gateway pb or some place like that, be mad at them, they should test each gun before they make a sale over $75 but they dont, so screw them.

get in contact with them, and demand to have them fix it for free or you will file a lawsuit for the gun to be fixed. and request to bring the case to judge judy. as soon as they hear that they will shovel their pants out and fix your gun and prolly give you a bunch of free courtesy stickers or sumthin.

Sorry to hear this but that's what you get from gateway. NEVER order anything else from PAINTBALLGATEWAY.COM. I am boycotting it.

I'm really glad that somebody admits that they got one from a bad batch...THANK YOU FOR NOT JUMPING ON THE IMPULSE BANDWAGON!!...Yes, they are good guns..but if everyone listened to impy fanboys..there would be no diversity in paintball...
