Review: This is a difficult review to write as how can one mask REALLY outdo any other? Besides, the fact that I have used JT Masks for about as long as JT has been making paintball masks with only brief forays into other companies, I was about a loyal as a person can be without being narrow-minded...

However, a friend of mine who I play with regularly bought a VForce Morph about 3 months ago... I noticed exactly how easy it was for him to remove his lense and clean his entire mask thoroughly... Being a bit narrow-minded, I must admit, I passed it off a a mere trick, something to attempt to take the focus off JT's "obvious" superiority...

About a month ago, I took a trip to Smart Parts to get re-certified on Impulse and to get certified on the 2003 Shocker. While I was up there I got to play a full day with the All Americans. I hadn't planned on playing while I was there and had not brought any of my equipment (including my JT Proteus) with me....

Of the equipment I borrowed, was a VForce Morph, a red one with a mirrored lense....

Here are 2 pictures of me playing with it....

I found that the mask fit VERY well... it was ALOT more comfortable than my Proteus which almost felt TOO close to my face... The Morph breathed VERY well and had great air circulation....

This was one problem that I severely had with my Proteus, not that much with my ProFlex or IZE.... They all had circulation problems (the Proteus being the worst) and that led to a reduction in the ability for the mask to resist fogging and in some cases, I actually had little waterfalls building up on the inside of my Proteus Lense....

The VForce didn't fog ALL day despite being very hot, and very humid (or it felt that way alteast, very similar to the hottest and most humid conditions that I have ever played in)... All my JT Masks would have started fogging at this point, maybe not alot but alteast enough where I would have switched masks or begun to be annoyed...

When I did get hit in the lense, I found that even with the quick change lense system, that the mask did not allow ANY paint or shell inside the mask... and when I went to clean the mask, it was tenfold easier to clean up perfectly than it was to get in all the cracks and crevices of my JT's... At the end of the average day, I wouldn't THINK about taking my JT lense out to make sure I got all the paint and shell out, but with the VForce, it's not more an inconvience than wiping down my hopper or gun...

I only had two problems with the VForce and both of them are so easily overcome that it's more of a momentary setback than a problem.

#1. The mask is a bit bulkier than any other mask I have used... This isn't a problem but the feel of the mask during play is something that may take a few games to adjust to correctly.. I had to change the way I held my gun just a little bit... Like I said, not even a problem...

#2. Rarity of finding the masks and lenses... Once again, not a problem, just I don't think enough people have realized the value of this mask quite yet.... Especially for how long it's been on the market.

Also, one thing to note, attaching the visor on the VForce is SO much less of a pain in attaching the visor... but the JT does get one point up in the fact you don't need orings to do it...

Upon my return, I was quick to order my Morph... and I am in the process of getting a dealer account for my store...
Conclusion: I'm greatly impressed by these masks... I have even ordered a second Morph that I am going to paint orange to use during those time I end up reffing (VForce needs to sell a stock Ref Morph, right now they have a Ref Armor)

Everything from the quick change lenses, to the great comfortability , and DEFINATELY including the great fog-resistance....

Now for the most part I have compared this with my JT's, and it's because I have little expierence with my former Raven mask as I did not find that it suited me at all... The Raven mask had problems with fogging and was too small for my face... I did like the sun-sensitive lense tenting and it does look interesting, but I value function above form... and with the VForce, if I want a tented lense, I can switch my lenses out in about 10 seconds...

That non-withstanding... These masks are great. Now I know alot of people are like how I was... Die-hard JT fans, but I encourage people to borrow one of these masks and just give them a shot... Give them a fully-open-minded shot and I'm sure that even if you don't switch, you will atleast be impressed in the quality and comfort that is to be found...

Now, the mask isn't perfect but the only problem or tidbit of the mask design itself... the orings holding the visor on, I am not going to dock any points because I think it's a better system than the JT and I can't think of any better way to attach it...

Now, one thing to note... there are some cases that I think the JT is a better mask, such as better availibility of replacement lenses... so I'm keeping my Proteus as a backup mask, but you can bet, that unless someone steals my VForce, you can expect to see my in my Morph on the field...
