Spyder Imagine with Stock and Freak 14" barrel. With the stock barrel its no competition for the DX, but with the Freak 14" I would put it on a par with the DX for capability. |

| Review: |
Let me start by saying that this is a fantastic marker. Of course you are going to get the people with their autocockers and their £1000 setups knocking a Spyder, it’s inevitable. So let’s not get involved in one of those debates. I am going to review the gun for what it is, what it does and how well it does it.
Looks wise it looks the dogs bollox, the matching barrel and smooth pale blue colour compliment the gun nicely. Once you get a VL Revolution and your gas bottle attached. This thing looks menacing. First time I used this marker was a couple of weeks ago and people were genuinely impressed when I set it up.
The looks are one thing, and to a degree influenced my decision in the purchase of the marker, however performance is what we are all here for at the end of the day and man does it perform. This being an electronic marker means that you can get a serious rate of fire from it. I had 1000 paintballs to start out with and by the end of the first game had gone through 400. I found myself adjusting my trigger happy play by the end of the day and being a little more conservative, as 3000 rounds in one day seemed a little excessive to me. Some people have passed comment on the stock barrel being inaccurate etc. but I have no issues with it, yes the boomsticks may perform better, but the range and accuracy with the stock barrel, I was heavily impressed with. I managed to pick a few people off from a distance and in very few shots for example.
Another important factor is chopping and I can safely say it isn't an issue with this gun, it fires consistently and within those 3000 shots I did have one ball break, unfortunately this was broken when I filled my hopper, but it did mean that for a short period I had paintballs spinning off in all directions.
The other great thing about this gun is how easy it is to strip and clean and it doesn’t take a genius to put it back together again. |

| Conclusion: |
Having never used every single paintball marker out there, I cannot give this gun 10/10 as that would mean it is perfect and there is nothing better out there. I give the gun 9 as it performs well, the stock barrel is accurate, no issues with chopping. Like I said earlier though, you will want to tighten those screws before your first outing. |
