I have used nearly all guns avaidable on the market. The closest markers to the sentinel are other blowbacks (i.e. tippmans, spyders, etc). |

| Review: |
I bought this gun out of curiosity and I wanted a nice affordable semi for when I feel like laying down paint (i ususally play with my phantom). I had heard alot of good things about Action Markers' products, so I decided to give them a try. Lets just say that for 175$, this was a steal of a deal. It is a good looking gun with a nice thick anno job. The stock barrel is decent (definately the best stock barrel for a gun in its price range). There are alot of things about the gun that you can tell had alot of thought put into them. The drop forward seems to perfectly align my tank on my shoulder when I play. I really like how the velocity is adjusted through the front of the gun through the valve chamber, because it makes for more accurate adjustments. I received the gun on a Thursay, and took it to a tourny on the following Friday and many people complimented the looks of the gun. They were very suprised at the price of the gun when I told them how much I spent. On average throughout the night, I was getting about +/- 7fps which is very good considering the paint was horrible. I have not chopped on this gun and have shot well over 1000 rounds through it. I did have one ball break because of the tremendously huge size paint that we were using that night and I was using a mdeium bore barrel at the time. After switching to a .695 freak insert, I was able to shoot very accurately. I also like the vari-grip feed neck...it is very easy to put the hopper in and out of the feedneck, but once its in, it wont come out unless you take it out, especially when you are a front player who is doing alot of running and diving. The top cocking feature is nice and makes squegging on the feild alot more easy of a task. The derlin bolt seems to be a plus, but to tell you the truth, in all my years of paintball, I never really have noticed much of a preformance difference between derlin and metal bolts...derlin is easier to clean though! My only complaint is that the trigger pull is short, but has way to much back slack. It isnt too big of a deal, because once you get on the feild, you are able to rip alot faster once the adrenaline gets going, but it still good be better. I plan on putting a lighter spring in, and doing a trigger job to the trigger to adjust the back slop. Make sure your sentinel comes with the new sear (if you buy new it shouldnt be a problem). I think I got stuck with an old sear, and that could be the reason for me having a hard time ripping on the gun. Just for reference, I have owned 2 BKOs, spyders, tippmanns, many pumps, a viking, 2 cockers, a defiant, a bushmaster, an impulse, pt extreme, and a diablo gun. Of all of these guns, this gun can keep up with most of them. I really enjoy using it. I gave this gun an 8 because its awesome, and for the price you cant beat it. There are some minor things (mainly the trigger frame) that could use some major improvement, but its still worth it. I am a hard grader, so giving this gun an 8 is quite a compliment!
Also, keep an eye out for the diadem conversion kit (electro-pneumatic) for the sentinel to come out very soon...should be sweet! |
