Glow In The Dark, Topaz, Ottawa Xtreme Paintball (I've only been to Glow In THe Dark out of these... I usually play at my cottage)
Review:
Ok, first off... The two main things that ticked me off were that the refs are kids... They talk to us like we are dumb and ask us to repeat the fu*kin rules... The second thing is that they are too leniant on rules. One rule is no blind shootin and no crack shootin... Which people did anyway. My gun was in for repairs so I was using there Tippman 98. Custom... Okay gun... My Tippman A-5 is obviously better. Umm... Me and about 10 guys "rented" the place to ourselves for a private booking (That's what it said on the sheet) but when we got their, we ended up having to share the field with newbs and pros alike... That bothered me because of a) their lack of organization and b) Newbs spray and stay in one place and pros buy like 800 balls (Fill their 200 rnd hoppers and 4 podpacks) they run around and spray... I'm intermediate so I don't spray but I also don't stand still. I shoot about 1 ball per 6 seconds and I am very, VERY accurate. I just don't think you should mix pros, intermediate and newbs in one game. Doesn't make sense. Also, back to the rules... When your hit, are you not suppose to call it?! I watched my balls hit AND explode on peoples masks, nuts and chest! They just got down and didn't call it! I hate when people aren't honest about simple fun games... I was hit a total of 6 times in 3 hours and 4 of the 6 balls didn't explode (maybe the brand they use) but obviously I wouldn't call it... The other two times where on the top of my head! The others where in my chest area! I like the facilites though, personally, probably the best in town. I still think outdoor is better. But, I agree with a lot of people that said the owner is prick... He sold my friend a PMI Pirahna EXT Pro and changed the springs in fornt of him saying the ones that come with it aren't good. He let it slide without a price but the next week, my friend came back because his velocity was messed. John sold him a 30$ spring set and then charged him 5$ to install it when he took the original springs out!? He cut the one he put in before in half. I think he thinks he's wiser than others and figured he could make an extra 35$ bucks by scamming a 16 year old. And I admit, my friend isn't the wisest. But that's aside the point. My total rating of the field and everything is...
Well sorry you had such a bad time, just a note, private bookings are 12 or more, and I would like to see the spring kit that was sold for $30, when they are only $15, I remember the conversation and I can tell you that I never cut his spring in half as you suggest, and you know what sometimes the spring provided by the manufurers just are to strong or sometimes to weak, this is nothing new whether it's a $100 marker or $1500. As I remember the velocity was to high and instead of buying a new one which he couldn't afford I cut a few rings on the spring at no cost. A spring kit is usually a must buy because of the difference in velocities, and the springs just get weak over time, hope this clears things up even if Jay thinks otherwise.
GoodFella xXx is an idiot. It is "procedure" if you want to make sure that everyone knows and follows the rules. Just because they made you repeat the rules does not mean they are idiots, they are just doing their job.
Also, if someone is blind shooting and you don't like it, there are 2 ways to resolve it. One is to yell at the refs to tell the guy to stop blind shooting, the other way is to cover th guy's gun in hits, so he is out? Is it that hard?
Last thing, a private booking means that you play by yourselves. YOU have the right to tell the refs that you don't want to play with others, but if you don't, they will assume it is okay cause usually it is.
