My friend and I went to play here today....we came for the woodsball field. It is indeed up a hill, but it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. it's just a short hike. The bunker setup was great, there was a good amount of cover depending on which bunker you chose. The only downside was that it was muddy from the rain and snow we just got, and some bunkers were filled with water. I'm sure it's better in the spring or summer.
There was a large group of 12 year olds there, most of them had never played before. they kept coming up to me and my friend, asking us questions, and gawking over our guns. There were a few adults there, obviously the fathers of some of the kids. They had their own questions too. The kids were OK, not too bright, but they followed orders pretty well. There weren't any serious pros there, my friend and I and a couple of guys who showed up later were the best players on the field. The refs were good, they made all the right calls and were very friendly. The employees in the proshop were also very helpful.
The speedball field isn't that great. It's on a hill, and the bunkers there don't provide much cover. I played two games on the field and went right back to the woods course. Prices were good, $15 gets you admission, $3.50 to fill a 12 oz. tank. they allow you to bring your own paint, but in case you need to buy it at the field the paint is priced rather cheap. you can get a case of RPS marbs for approx. $65. compare that to the prices at paintball depot and Knightbreed, and you can see why ABC is popular.
Overall, I give the field an 8. The woodsball field is definitely the better of the two fields. Stay away from the speedball and you'll be fine. |
