A group and myself went out to the field because they didn't know about Orbital and after reading the other reviews on here I was weary of going but gave them the benifit of the doubt (and $20) to see how their field was.
We got there at about 930am to sign in and what not. Everything was smooth at the counter paying, getting gear (my friends rented) etc. After a little while and everyone got signed up and ready to play they called the first game to start.
Everthing was great up until I walk on to the field with me being the only one with goggles on, Not even the refs were wearing masks. I like my eyes so I kept my mask on the entire time. They gave the normal safety briefing except their surrender rule is that you have to be under 10 feet and have a good shot before you yell surrender or it doesn't count...(I'll tell you my story in a sec) The refs said that you need your goggles on at the 1min call, and then barrel "bags" were off at 30seconds.
Ok so we played the one....Huge field all day until almost the last game they played once in the "woods". And as another reviewer said, if your team loses the first game, you will lose all the other ones too.
Well while I was playing there were a few, interesting events.
Maybe halfway through a game I got hit so I stood up and started to walk across the field to the exit (I dont care if I get hit again) but I hear a guy start screaming at me to walk towards the back and around ?wtf? its paintball. Anyway I obliged and walked all the way around this huge field to get out.
Next, they added the "woods" to the big field which is basically 40 feet wide of 2foot bunkers and tress, along with 6inches of mud (found that out the hard way).
Lastly onto the surrender rule. There were two bunkers fairly close to each other, Definately less than 10 feet. I aimed directly at this kids head and yelled surrender, only to hear the ref yell "doesn't count" so I jumped out of my bunker and ran sideways away from the kid and shot him twice and got in the closest bunker I could find, thats not really bunkering but we get a talkin to about it next..
The next game (about 1:30pm) Buck came out to the field to have a "speech" with everyone. He talked and talked for maybe 10 minutes calling out different things done throughout the day... Bunkering, overshooting, etc. Which happens and you cant stop it but all through his speech there was a group of people sitting down in a circle (so half was not facing him) and he saw this and yelled at them "If you dont want to be here you can play somewhere else, we can arrange that" now I haven't got an MBA but thats not a way to keep customers.
Overall I would pick this last out of any local field or finding a field and playing with friends.
i have to agree with you along with all the other negative comments about this field. i want to know who silent angel realy is. i think he might work there. im not sure, but i dont think he's going to the same jungle games i go to because the one i go to sucks.
