Other Fields
in the Area:
From Austin, the only two other fields within a good distance are Constant Action and Texas Paintball. Both of which are only half as far, which is a big bonus. Texas Paintball is mostly woods orienated, which I don't prefer. Constant Action also has a bit of woods, but also has some more speedball. Of all three though, Petty's is most speedball orienated and is also cheapest.
Review: The fields are some of the best around. They really do spend a bit of time making sure they are both fun to play and fair. The people that work and play there are also really nice and relaxed, which helps give a fun atmosphere to play in. The prices are also pretty decent (best in Austin) and they have a wide paint selection available. They also are the only Austin field with BYOP, but the paint prices are good enough that I just buy there most times anyway. The field is definitely more oriented towards tournament players instead of recballers, so you newer guys may find a better time at CA or Texas Paintball. All of those reasons combined are why I usually head off to Petty's. The only real drawback for me is the driving distance. From campus, it takes a long time to get there, and a long time to get back (about 45 minutes each way). Both CA and Texas Paintball are about half as far and I have to admit, that's a pretty big advantage for me.

Anyway, definitely my favorite field in Austin, and at least tied for favorite in Dallas / Austin. (I usually am one place or the other. :P) Plus, Capo plays there, and that's all the reason you need! ;)
