Review: Cross Creek is a great place to play great speed-ball. The owner, Willis, does an excellent job of making everyone feel at home. He has a lot of great friends and a young son, Cody, who helps make everything run smoothly. There are two speed-ball fields that great for young guns and also for very experienced tournament players. There is also occasional woods ball and scenario games played in the hills around the speed-ball fields.

The original field is great to play on. It is made mostly of 55 gallon drums, plywood stand-ups and plastic pipes. I love to play on the old field because the great sounds of the paint hitting the metal, plastic and wood. The rapid impacts make such a cool action sound.

Even though the original field is great, I'm like most players who like the speed and action you can get on the new air field. It has lots of large bunkers of different sizes and is quite large compared to most of the fields I have seen in other towns.

Willis, his wife, son and friends all work to make sure the field is run with a family atmosphere. They don't tolerate any kind of misbehavior, drinking or cursing. I was nervous when I first took my young son to the field but quickly found that the refs watch out for the young kids to make sure they don't get bunkered or hurt in any way (other than the minor sting of a paintball here and there).

The field fee is $15 for all day pay (this includes free air all day). You can bring your own paint but if needed several different price/quality levels of paint are also available at the proshop. Willis and his friends can help diagnose and often fix many paintball marker problems. CO2 and compressed air (3,000psi and 4,500psi) are available at the field. All safety precautions are rigorously enforced, including crono testing before games (300 fps max). I believe the minimum age is 10 yoa. They also have rental guns available.

We could play in other fields but enjoy the friendly, clean and safe atmosphere we always find at Cross Creek Paintball. I strongly recommend Cross Creek to anyone who wants to give paintball a try and to speedballers that want a clean challenging field to play on.
