This is the first field I have played on in Jersey and I have to say, "Not impressed." Don't' get me wrong this place has potential but it's just not what it could be. First and foremost my group and I waited 45 min after regitration just to be put on a team. We did not receive a rundown of the field rules, (safety or otherwise) not cool! Also the refs were not concered about making even teams. There is more to picking teams than just even numbers, like team dynamics and exp. The refs made some poor judgment calls but i guess they'll get better with more exp. Lastly we spent too much time screwing around between games. We could have played 3-4 more games easily if there was less downtime and more organization. With that being said the fields were quality and lots of fun. The owner John, is a nice guy and works to keep it fun. Although Picasso has been around a while it still needs some kinks worked out.
Conclusion:
1) Needs more organization
2) Refs. need improvement
3) Cost is low
4) Fields were fun
Everytime I'm there, I have a great time. The owner's name is Bill, and he's a great guy. Always hooks us up when we have a large group. He checks up on us a few times a day to see how we're enjoying the day.
The ref's there for the most part are awesome. I've met a few ref's that's very knowledgable and friendly. Most importantly, they're energetic and willing to help. On occassion you run into some overly excited/cocky ones but the good definately out weights the bad here.
I drove 2 hrs from NYC to this field, because I know they are a great bunch of people, and have very nice fields. Prices are fair, and a good experience. If you don't like the way it's run, you can always talk to the refs there, or go directly to Bill. They're always looking for players feedback, and that's what makes them a great field. If that doesn't work for you, then take your business elsewhere, it would work out for the best of both parties in that case.
