Review: I used to think this field was really good. This was the only place I had ever played before going to OA. OA's fields blew me away. The fields here range from dreadful to awesome. "Barrels" would be good, but it's too small for anything other than 3 man ball. Some refs here are pretty nice, others are just stupid. One time the refs made us play on barrels with AT LEAST 60 people. It was just ridiculous. There are only about 30 bunkers on the field. We're talking about an 80 x 40 field here. Needless to say, about half the team got shot off the break and the remaining people just slid into the nearest bunker and sat there blindfiring until one team or the other won. "Fort" can be really fun. "Minibunkers" would be good if it wasn't on a slope and there weren't any giant tree roots sticking up out of the ground. I tried to slide into a bunker on my knees, hit a root, and then got lit up. I had a cut in my knee and got shot about 10 times and the refs didn't even offer me a band-aid. I had to ask for one. "Castle" is by far the best field. Ask the ref if you can vote to see if people want to go to "Castle", then just keep revoting so you stay there the whole day. It's so big that you can have fun on it even if you play there the entire time. I actually prefer doing this. Some of the fields look like they just threw some tape around them and called it a field, eg., "Mountain" and "Jungle". "Jungle" is basically just a bunch of thornbushes that you have to navigate through. You can't see people unitl you are right on top of them which leads to stupid "20' rule" encounters. Usually I would yell, "20' rule", but they wouldn't listen so I would get lit up and then they would be pulled. This useless rule leads to lots of encounters like this, especially on this field. My friend and I set the record for most games played in a day, with 23 games. You get a great amount of play in, but it's not always on quality fields. This field is most definitely for noobs. about 80% of people there have Tippmanns and another 10% have Spyders. If you have any experience, I would steer away from this field because it's not a challenge. There are a few "regulars" who go every weekend. You usually see a few faces you know every time you go. About 90% of people who play here are under the age of 15, so usually nobody listens and it's disorganized. The owner, Jim, seems kind of crusty at first, but he's actually really nice. If you get hurt or have to wait to get picked up he'll let you come inside and watch TV. They have no proshop, and their fills are usually pretty bad. Paint prices are absolutely ridiculous. Definitely BYOP. I would suggest going to Pev's instead.
