We have a group of 5 guys that play every two weeks and have been for sometime now. We normally play at Red River Paintball in Clarksville, TN but they were running a scenario game this weekend. So we decided to try out MTP and see how it is.
I’d just like to start the rest of this by saying ”I will never return to this field.”
1: Required everyone to chrono a couple times during the day. I've always felt this was important and have been to a few fields that only require it once.
2: Very good nice Hyperball course. Not well balanced but still good.
3: Large woods ball course that's pretty ok. However I had a tick when I came off and was only in the game for 3 minutes.
4: Fields are very close to staging area. (short walk back your paint)
1: WAY too many rules and some are just ridiculous.
1a: You can not remove you tank from your gun after it is initially put on!
1b: You must have a Ref' on the field to play a game, you can not organize your own games.
1c: You are required to have your barrel plugs in (condoms on) until 10 seconds before the game starts and the very second the game is over you must put them back on. Everyone got yelled at a LOT for this one, plus I got hit at the start of 2 games because it took me a couple seconds too long to get my barrel condom off and the game started while I was putting in my pocket.
2: The owner (Bill) is the most controlling and rude field owner that has ever taken my hard earned money. There were a number of games that he stopped in the middle of the 10 second count down so he could Ref' and then ended up moving around the already agreed upon teams to what he felt it should be.
3: The games take FOREVER to start. (20 - 45 minutes) This is mainly due to the overly controlled nature of the field.
3b: One game we were 7 on 7 and standing ON the field for 30 minutes before it was ready to start because the owner told the Ref’ to wait for the 6 other guys that were getting air and filling up on paint. Then right before it was finally going to start the Owner came out and did a ”random" team reorganization... After 10 more minutes of that we ended up with 1 person that was different to the team we had before...We waited a total of 40 minutes standing on the field for a single 7 minute game. With too many people for the field to handle.
4: You will not get air without standing in line for 10 minutes. I filled 4 or 5 times during the day… That’s 1 hour of my day standing in line for air!
5: They only fill to 3000PSI and due the lack of an on site compressor I was only filled to 2300PSI.
6: Airball field is extremely small, 4 on 4 is all you could realistically play with on this field.
7: Spools course layout is really bad. Huge gaps and very hard to play in. The holes in the middle aren't plugged allowing you to see large sections of the field while staying tucked in. Just takes lot of the sport out of things.
8: No access to running water. This was a major problem due to the heat and fact I broke a ball and needed a quick rinse with the hose to get quickly going again.
9: Lot's of kids playing here. I'm all about playing with kids and enjoy newbie’s as well but it can leave the games lacking at times. Don't know if it's as much as "Con" as it is an alert to any players who would rather play with the bigger kids or younger ones who have been at it a while.
At the end of the day I was more annoyed then entertained and almost asked for my money back.
