Conquest - Completely different experience, as its outdoor. However, both are fun.
California Paintball Park - I haven't been back since the change in ownership, though I like the variety there.
Review:
I'm kind of biased towards Gorilla, because it also happens to be my local shop. Spent a good deal of money there and Gene's the one who does all the work on my 'cocker. I finally got to play their fields and I left, pleased with the experience. I would have liked to have played more games, but power outages (not just them, about a 1/2 mile radius of businesses) and just getting over the flu limited my playing time. Regardless, my sons and I had a good time. The refs are cool and don't play favorites. They like to keep an eye on how games progress and if they see the field could use a quick fix, they'll switch things around. Both the refs I saw working that day, really seem to pay particular attention, sizing up the guys/girls playing and break teams out evenly. While playing and watching, I never noticed either side have a distinct advantage. Big time props for making that extra effort.
My only nitpick is the floors outside the fields get extremely slick. My oldest son busted his butt on the hard concrete twice, wearing field shoes. They worked great on the turf... but as soon as you hit that slick floor... WHOOPS!
This place will be even better, once they get their third field up and running. From the looks of it, its going to be BIG. Can't wait for that.
If you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to pay them a visit. There aren't any attitudes working there, other than helpful ones.
