Review: I have not played at this field yet but I have read alot of reviews of fields in the ATL area and base where I and my 3 sons play from the reviews here. The Pictures of the field look awesome and I would like to play there. but something disturbs me here. Any time someone post anything slightly negative there is a response from "APUNKJUNKIE" I dont know if this person is employeed by or an owner of this field but his comments set a very "combative/antagonistic" atmosphere and due to this I will choose not to play here.

Repsectfully,

Tim

Nope not an employee or owner. There is something you must realize before you start blasting my posts. I *have* been to practically every field in the area several times. I *know* how things are run at the fields that I have been to. Arkenstone gets a bad rap from many of the players in the area because it is woodsball and a lot of people will leave poor comments on the field because it is woodsball. Look at a lot of the criticism of the field. It centers on the fact that it is not speedball.

I play there on a fairly regular basis and I know the good and bad about the field. Comparatively, the price stinks. Other fields that let you BYOP are going to be much cheaper. You pay for what you get though. It has *the* nicest castle and *the* nicest dodge city that I have seen in Georgia. The castle and dodge city together must've been over $40,000 with labor and materials (just a guess). Where else are you going to find a field that spends $40,000 on two different fields. Well most fields don't even make $40,000 in profit each year...so you pay more, you get to play nicer fields.

These "safety issues" people have posted about are near non-existent. Any field you go to, you'll have people taking off their mask. This field actually sits players out of games if they lift their mask during play. The most common thing said by the refs is, "Put your barrel plug in." The thing about the guy getting shot from the castle. It is physically impossible for anyone to get shot from the castle field to the staging (the one closest to it). A paintball, at most, travels 40 yards or so....on a good day with an arc. The staging area is easily over 40 yards from the beginning of the field and over 150 yards from the front of the castle (and I'm under estimating). Now find me a paintball gun that does that, through trees, and give it to me to patent.

Bad refs? I asked the guy to tell me who it was, which he didn't. Bad players who seem buddy buddy with the refs? Whenever I ask them to describe them, they refuse. I've been playing there for over 6 years and I've gotten to know the owner and the people who run the field. If something is wrong, I'll be the first to go tell them "That's just not right...." I'll also be the first to defend the field against unnecessary criticism.

If you ever met me in person, I'm not even close to being combative or antagonistic. I go out there and teach the new players how to play the game. Unfortunately people take reviews on here from people who went to the field once and think they "know all." Go to the field, make up your own mind, and don't post on here when you've never actually been to the field.

Now on to the personal attack against me....I don't care. You're some guy on the internet. I just want you to do one thing for me. Look up my other reviews of other fields and see how fair they are. I'm fair about reviews on this field, but when someone flat out lies...I'm going to call them on it. Look me up if you decide to go to Arkenstone. I'm the guy in the Red, White, and Blue jersey shooting the Phantom (pump). Oh yeah since I'm so combative, I choose to shoot a pump while playing there against newer players instead of my mag which can hit 20+ bps....that's being combative isn't it.

If you disagree with anything in this post, just PM me and I'll answer any questions you have.

I've played with you befor lol. You a really cool guy. And waht you said is really true i think its the best field around thats why i drive 30 mins to go play there. Thats why i bought my gun from GBP so i could have a one year free pass witch will save me money of those prices.

And i always hear about how you have the best shot in georgia. lol

Funny thing is, when I play with a semi I can't hit the broad side of a barn, though with my pump I can get it through the tiniest holes. Oh well this guy joined on 4/2/06 and hasn't logged in since so I'm guessing its just someone wanting to badmouth the field because they don't like woodsball.
