Review: Our group had about 15 new guys, and 5 of us who had played before, Although Dave was a really nice guy, there was a complete lack of organization during the whole day.

The ref (if you can call him that) never went over the basics of paintball safety with the new guys (which led to two of the younger guys shooting a few people at sub 10feet distances in the woods). He could never be found during the game except right next to the dead box, at no point did he walk around and make sure everyone was doing ok during the games.

The ref also didn't "lead" us to the following game, we waisted lots of time just sitting around talking after each game not really knowing where we were going next.

As a previous writer mentioned the porto-potty toilets very smelly and fairly nasty and let's just say it was time for them to be changed / emptied, I would never bring any woman to Commando for that reason alone.

The equipment was good and reliable (they were 98customs). Although the masks were a total write off, out of 20 guys at least 15 of them complained that they could not see well because of the extreme fogging and scratches. I myself could not differentiate friend from foe during any of the "forest" games because of glare and extrem fogging which ended up ruining many games because I could not play properly.

The actually fields were pretty good, most of them however we to small, which led to one on ones shootouts during the games, absolutely no room to perform any sort of tactics of any kind. The group did enjoy the speedball course, but most of the games were total chaos. Perhaps if the ref would have suggested a capture the flag or base defense style game things would have been better. (And no, you can't call that castle of death a base defense) that thing had so many holes that anyone could stick their barrels into them and kill everyone inside... trust me I know.... (5 bonus balls).

This review would not be complete if I didn't complain about the long "driveway" (more like a damm off-road course). This "driveway" had no many sharp rocks and pot holes that I was sure I was going to burst a tire.

So... my rating a 3 out of 10, My recommendations to Dave (shared by a few of the other guys)

- Please get real refs not 12-13 year olds that don't give a crap about what's going on. We don't mind young guys, just make sure "they care, and show interest".

- Change the damm port-o-potty from time to time.

- Do something about the off-road course you call a "driveway"

- Get new masks.

Would I go back.. sure, except this time I'll park on the side of the road and walk the 10 minutes to get to the field, bring my own mask and gun, make sure I teach basic safety rules to my group and piss in the lake next to the fields...

In closing, I just want to actually say that Dave WAS awesome that day, made everyone laugh and most of the guys had a good time, however, when we get together again, we won't be choosing this field unless some major changes happen to the above mentioned items. I strongly believe that if Dave put just a tad more effort into the upkeep of the field and the equipment, this could be a top-notch field.

Just to let you know, this spring they have been working very hard (btw im not dave) at cleaning up brush, they also got all new masks and many longer barrels for the tippmanns, the road has been groomed a bit but they said they will be doing something about it soon. They rarely had any safety problems at the field meaning the refs must be doing theyre jobs.

I have a couple things to say about your "rating"...
"The ref (if you can call him that) never went over the basics of paintball safety with the new guys" The person in the building gives the rules at commando... not the refs.
(And no, you can't call that castle of death a base defense) that thing had so many holes that anyone could stick their barrels into them and kill everyone inside... trust me I know.... (5 bonus balls).
There are very little places in the casle where people can put there barrels through.... Except maybe a window??? And you are complaining about 5 bonus balls... done by a member of your group? a friend? co-worker? how is that commando's fault? Everybody gets bonus balls... its part of the game... Cant take it dont play...
Although the masks were a total write off, out of 20 guys at least 15 of them complained that they could not see well because of the extreme fogging and scratches.
Commando buys 100s of new lenses a year... and the staff is constently replacing them.
As a previous writer mentioned the porto-potty toilets very smelly and fairly nasty and let's just say it was time for them to be changed / emptied, I would never bring any woman to Commando for that reason alone.
The company cleans and emptys them every week? As for the smell... Its a port-o-poty.... what did u expect for it to smell like flowers? They get cleaned every week... And commando gets toonz of wemon a year... And they always have a blast.

Im starting to dough your paintball experiance.... The feilds at commando are not small..... If anything they are hudge.... some of commando's feilds are so big that its hard to play 10-10 because of the size. Every feild has strat.... you just have to come up with it....
(which led to two of the younger guys shooting a few people at sub 10feet distances in the woods).
If your complaining about getting shot from 10 feet in paintball... then quit!
