Review:
Ok, here is a review of commando paintball in Ottawa:
Safety: Very safe depending on the type of referee your team has. Even the bad referees have hard decks about masks on during the game and puting your barrel condom on as you exit the field. Most will stand in the middle of the game and look for players trying to wipe fresh paint off their cammies. (I have seen a ref find someone doing this and I must say I didn’t want to be that guy.)
RATING: 9 out of 10
Fields:
-Village, good. They have a 2-story building that really rocks.
-Small hill, very good. Really fun if you’re doing a 7 on 7 or 5 on 5 or 3 on 3 game.
-Fort, not so good. If you start on either end and move towards it, its fun, but if you have one team attacking and one defending, all you do is burn through paint and air.
-Speed ball, good. Lots of items to hide behind.
-Don’t know its name but is like a barren 60’ by 40’ field, ok. Great if you what a very quick game and you have people that will cover you as you move.
-VALLEY, KICKS BUTT!! This field is by far the most fun of all the fields. It has a valley right in between the two bases and is perfect for “back door” attacks.
-Small forest, never played. Right next to the valley, all we ever do is just expand the play area of the valley to incorporate the forest too.
RATING: 8 out of 10
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends.

-Walk on: $15 if renting, $10 if you have your own gear

Balls for members: -$4 for 100
-$20 for 500
-$40 for 1000
-$80 for 2000
RATING: 4 out of 10 (because it takes time to become a member)
Rules: Very simple rules, wear your mask, put your barrel condom on when you’re eliminated, when your hit check for paint (if there’s no paint your not eliminated) and HAVE FUN!
RATING: 9 out of 10
Services: Ok, some times there just to busy to remember what you asked.
RATING: 7 out of 10
Proshop: NONE, but I think that JT’s is right on there field somewhere, (although I’ve never seen it.)
RATING: N/A
Staff: 90% of the staff what to do there best but sometimes you will get one guy (usually a kid trying to become a member) that doesn’t know what they are doing.
RATING: 9 out of 10.
Referees: Nice, most will even give you tips if you get eliminated and how to stay alive next time. Almost all of them have a “no bull ship” attitude and stand by it. (but I have never seen them kick a person out for something stupid the player did)
RATING: 7 out of 10
Players: If you ever go by yourself you can be assured that you will end up with a group of people at about your skill level. When I first when I was with the walk on guys. And then after a few Saturdays I asked to go with the guys how know what they were doing.
RATING: N/A
Facilities:
-Clubhouse, very nice. Where you can get all your balls, air and food or couches and car seats if you need s break.
RATING: 8 out of 10
-Out houses: -#1, go in the trees
-#2, use the outhouses if you ABSOLUTLY have to
RATING: 3 out of 10
Food: -$5 for a pizza lunch (3 slices of pizza and a pop or water)
-$1 for bottled water, pop or chips
RATING: 10 out of 10
Rentals:
-98 customs and model 98 (little banged up but you can still push them to, and maybe over, 6 bps
-Camo overalls (very nice actually)
-Face mask (these things are old and dirty. It’s amazing no one has thrown up in them)
-48/3000 HPA tank (runs out of compressed air after about 800 rounds)
-200 round hopper (duhhhhhh!)
-Belt with holsters for 2 140 round pods (this kicks butt!)
RATING: 8 out of 10
***MEMBERS: To become a member you have to pay $20 and work for 3 days usually about 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Then you can get your paint for the SUPER low price of 4 cents a ball! (beet that, lowest I have found is 5 cents a ball)
RATING: 7 out of 10 (because you can only work about one day a week and the drive is horrible)
OVERALL REVIEW:
Pros -lots fields
-Kick but people that can come out
-90% of the staff are nice
Cons -Price before becoming a member
-Rentals and washrooms are kind of bad
OVERALL RATING: 7.4 out of 10

Tag Zone isn't paintball, they use rubber balls at that field not paintballs. But In do agree that most of the people there are noobs.
PSI is indoor but the owner also has TWO outdoor fields, one in perkins (in Quebec) and one in Carelton Place.

Dispute: The refs were not safe, i had some kid that walked around taking with his buddy and brought us right through a battle with no masks on and it took forever to start the next games
Kyle_14, I have been playing at commando for 8 years and I have never seen that happen. All of the refs are very safe and are always making sure everybody is having a good time and doing it safly. I very highly dough it that the ref you had would do that. Commando paintball is very safe and the refs ARE great refs and very safe!!!
