J&D PaintBall, New Bremen, OH
Buckeye Paintball, Lima/Shawnee area - NOW forever CLOSED
Directions to the Field:
Best way is to get off I-75 at mile marker 90 (Fair Road) head WEST. Keep going West and take the angle to the southwest. Right were Fair Road takes a hard left turning into Conservancy Road going due south the Cutters parking lot is 50 feet on the right. Signs are posted/present! Total mileage to Cutters from I-75 is about 6-7 miles. Cutters is near Lonkington and just above the Miami/Shelby County line.
Review:
Cutter's is a good field that centers on the Fox Creek running thru the center of the field (east to west). There are three bridges across the field. The field is usually played in parellele to the creek allowing players to go high (south side) or play the low flats (north side of the creek). Most of the time the creek has little water but if you want to get wet you can find spots.
With all the trees on the field it has little sun heating but this also means little wind/breeze - so it can get rather stuffy & hot. Yes, it's a tree covered creek area so sketters are popular. They manicure the feild well!
There are numerous natural and man-made bunkers all over the course with an infamous bunker on top of the main culvert on the far east end that covers the east end home base.
Cutters has some rental equipment and CO2 filling. The last time I looked the guns are single shot types.
They are strict on crono'ing. They are also strict on fair playing and NO bunkering or wiping - they will kick offenders off the field - there are RULES enforced at this field.
If there is a negative about Cutters it is the lack of web site/info on "opens" or how to get invovled with teams/groups the frequent their field. Also they do not have a phone number listed as "Cutters Paintball" in the phone book. You need to drag your paintball equipment down a gravel road about 1/4 mile from the parking lot. Bring your own cooler and lawn chair.
