the foundry (m-40's sister field), my woods, and an outlaw woods field. the foundry is incredibly small and cramped. my field is poorly put together and i hardly ever use it. the outlaw field is much larger than all the other fields and cheaper than m-40 and the foundry (no charge for admission, obviously). unless weather is bad, players meet there every sunday at 1:00. pm.
Review:
i played paintball for the first time at m-40. the good things about it are that it's the only (relatively local) indoor field with a regular open play schedule. the foundry is only used for private games. m-40 also has a really cool speedball field. before playing at m-40, i'd never experienced real speedball before. the bad aspects of this field are as follows: m-40 is extremely dirty. in the 4 years i've been there it doesn't look like anyone has taken a weekend to hose down the heavily hit bunkers or mop up the floor in front of the doorways. the floor gets terribly slippery from paint goo because the floor is cement. m-40 also charges players $5 for 80 rounds of paint. that's a bit much. they should sell it by the hopper full (200 rounds). the thing i hate most is that the indoor field is way too close-quarters. i'd say 90% of eliminations are from 15-20 feet away. i'm no stranger to welts, but it gets incredibly annoying to turn around a corner and get lit up by a guy standing right in front of you. winning at m-40 takes skill, but takes a lot of luck as well. overall, the only good part about m-40 is its speedball field imo. but until it dries out, no other players want to play in the mud meaning we're stuck in the head to head, nose to nose style of play inside. personally, i can't get used to the cramped area. m-40 gets a 5 for it's awesome speedball field and its poor indoor field.
