There is not enough positive comments I can make about Hornets Nest. These guys are great! I participated in the recent fundraiser held by Hornets Nest to benefit the families of 2 NY State Troopers: one who was murdered and another who was critically wounded. These guys are a class act all the way! I will definitely be back.
Now its not only their fund-raising efforts that I admire. The have 2 fields: an 3-Man indoor and a 5-Man outdoor. Both fields are well maintained and easy to adapt to. They also have woodsball and scenario facilities but I did not get to try them firsthand. They provided a 2 spacious chrono stations and 3 compressed air fill stations. They are one of the few places I've played in our area that actually have a 4500 air fill!
Everything is conveniently located in close proximity to each other. No long walks to fill your tank, buy a soda, or chrono your gun. There were plenty of tables and space for players to lay out their gear.
Prices are very fair and competitive with other fields in the Capital Region. The basic rental gun is a SP Ion which is nice because it gives the casual player a fighting chance when playing against seasoned players with thousand dollar guns.
The most important factor with any field are the people who run it and Hornets Nest shines in this area. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The refs were very enthusiastic and fair. The Hornets Nest team was very professional and fun to play with/against. They displayed a tremendous amount of sportsmanship and lacked any arrogance one might see from a team when playing on their home field.
