Follow the instructions on the site- mostly. If you came from the I4 directions, and took a right on CR672, the field is on the left- the drive-way before Hill's Dirt Pit. If you took a left on CR672, from the I75 directions, the field is on the right, the drive-way after Hill's Dirt Pit. |

Hours: 0900 - 1600 Saturday and Sunday (Other days for special events or private parties.)
Fields: Four fields in total- two with inflatable bunkers 'speedball,' 'X-ball,' 'airball,' etc. Two are woods. I played on both woods fields. It's mostly attack and defend, with a two-story tower on either field. Normally you play on one or the other, but they have opened up both for larger groups at times. Watch out for thorns- it is a wooded area. Field '2' is more overgrown and thus provides much better cover, but both are fun.
Employees/Refs: Awesome people. Very friendly. Ref was always willing to do a paint check, even if he had to run through suppressive fire to do pull a check. 'Pro-shop' was decently stocked, but I broke a feed neck and sadly, they didn't have any at the time.
Players: It seems that at times the 'professionals,' didn't want to take it down a couple of notches for the new players, but overall, most of the other players were very friendly, and ready to have fun.
Facilities: Mini-Mobile portable trailer for fees and the 'pro-shop.' One 'portable outhouse.'
Food: Freshly cooked burgers, hot dogs, and fries, as well drinks are available. The prices escape me, but I remember they were reasonable. ($2.00 for a 1/2 liter bottle of Gatorade, for example. Could be better, but I've seen worse...)
Final Score: 9.23 / 10
Admission is a little much if you BYOP, but I didn't knock points off for that. The 'players' section had no weight in this score. Lost 'pointage:' Attack and defend is great, but I'd like to see something else- capture the flag, search and rescue, something. Adding a little 'theme' to everyday woodsball makes it even more fun. The store! Feed necks are some of the most common items players have trouble with. Keeping some in stock would definitely garner some extra funds, as well as please more customers.
Will I go again? Even though it's over an hour drive, for me, to get there, I'd go again. |
