Review:
My friends and I set up a group of people to go play paintball and since a few of my friends said its good their we agreed to go. Any way when we got their it was on top of a mountain and since you can ski on the mountain there was snow so we had to take a ski lift up and then walk about a half a mile to the waiting area and then we paid and all that. Then we started to hear the rules they were so stupid you cant shoot from 30ft away you must surrender. The fields were huge you would spend about a good 15 minutes until you saw somebody. The one rule I liked was you can shoot on full auto. The food was bad and the cafeteria smelled not even food, paint,or sweat. One thing I learned never listen to my friend about paintball again.
the surrender rule is for saftety and its 20ft so that mainly kids and other people dont get hurt if you would like to know how it feels to be shot from point blank be my guest and play me in speedhball on their field i know where it is
your review is terrible. Theres nothing about prices, what condition the fields are in, how the refs are. And don't expect it to be busy during the slow season. Most people dont like to play paintball in freezing temperatures.
It breaks my heart to see someone file a review that is pure fallacy. True enough there is a ski lift only in the winter, hopefully we wil solve that by next year. the walk is less then 1/4 of a mile. I was unable to determine were you in a private group and thus has less targets. Yes groupsd are smaller in the winter but wee do cut the field size down. as others have said, perhapses you misunderstood the surrender rule. it means if you sneak up on a player from behind without their knowledge and they are less then 20 feet away they must give up. this is to avoid point blank shots. many players are afraid for a detailed explanation. as for the smell, that is a first, I can only imagine you smelt the gas heater when it was firing up. Our food is a service, did you complain so I could remedy your problem, come back in the Spring, I hope.
Iseeall are you guys ever going to put in a decent speed ball field? Seriously what you have up there is a joke. about all its good for is running drills and that's a bout it. I know you guys don't want us tourny players up there but come on. Knock down that
sh!ty wooded speed ball field (I know it was cool about 5 years ago, but u let it go) and build a nice 7-man or a very decent 5-man. yea inside of about 10 guesses your senior reffing staff should be able to figure out who i am. No disrespect but dude take care of your refs, the most experienced one has what like 2-3 years with you max and that's like one guy. Keep it up all you new reffs, don't let the regulars try to "play on" Remember if they have to cheat to stay in the game till the end then they are not that good, and are just cheating themselves and everyone else. don't let people do that in YOUR house. Later see you in the summer (if you ever get a decent air sup field)
Dispute: - Games are only run for 15-20 minutes, saying that there is 15 minutes before you see anybody is a gross exaggeration.
- The walk from the ski lift to the staging area is not half a mile as indicated, just like Iseeall said its less then 1/4th of a mile.
- The rules are for you own safety. Having you keep your goggles on until your back to the staging area is not stupid. Having you keep your barrel plug in when at that staging area is not stupid. The surrender rule is not stupid, its just so people can enjoy the day more since they won't have to deal with big bleeding welts.
- While the food comment I can't dispute, after all people have different tastes, but it's the same kind of burgers and hot dogs and buns you'd buy at Costco or any other food store.
I agree with Fighting54th in that review did not cover important aspects of the field, it rather presented points that were either horribly exaggerated or simply not true.
Dispute: This guy obviously has very little experience in other fields and must be very lazy as well.
the walk is nowhere near a half a mile to the field, and the ski lift ride to the top of the mountain is very enjoyable. I was on a paintball team over 10 years ago and just recently got back into it. Liberty paintball has been my field of choice every time. The staff of both managers and refs are very helpful and cooperative, they do there best to accomodate both the unknowing newbs and the arrogant seasoned player as well. There woodball fields are great and if you want a game of speedball why dont you just stay indoors in the winter. Paintball was meant to simulate warfare, and hiding behind a bunch of inflatable plastic bunkers is something that you can do in your backyard. Dont get me wrong, speedball is great fun and fast sport, but it was made originally for guys to wasit there last bit of paint. The guys @ Liberty have great attitudes and will help you with everything you need, if they dont I am sure that Frank can re-arrange their attitudes faster that my A-5. Go to other fields where the attitude is that you should feel lucky to be allowed on the property. Go to other fields where the paint is up to 100 dollars a case. Go to another field where there is cosistant cheating among regulars. Go to another field where there are NO burgers, not even bad ones, which by the way who wants to eat a 3 pound burger deluxe and than run through the crypt! Go to another field that has no expansion plans or is never working with their bare hands to fix their place. Pay Libertys' insurance bill and taxes for their 250+ acre facility and then complain about the 20 FOOT surrender rule (which was not accurately percieved) and the price of thier paint. And one other thing malaka, if you want to engage someone in less than 10 minutes, take your camping ass out of the bunker and go shoot somebody. I do not work at Liberty, I have no family there, i just found the place this winter. I have been to almost all the paintball fields in the tri-state area and in MY OPINION Liberty is the best for begginers and seasoned players alike.
Please read other post before you pass judgement.
MGB's review seems to be only one sided, even his friend said it was a good field.
Angryrub, thank you for the props on the minutemen. FYI they are still alive and kicking just onto to other projects. Also remember at one time you too were a noob. Noobz are what keep our sport alive.
Nikita- if you've noticed, speedball is where the future of this sport is.... Sure, woodsball will always be around... But mainstream media attention will be on speedball... So WE carry the burden of trying to show people that its NOT WANNA BE WARFARE.... As you stated...
Paintball was never intended to go that route till people began modifying their gear to look like it, so companies followed suit...
Speedball was never "made up" just to waste paint... It was actually made to make it more spectator friendly...
I've been to liberty a ton of times.... And have only played the airball field once.... Since it caters mostly to woodsballers, I tend not to go out there... If I want airball, ill hit paintballmadness in stamford, CT.... If I wanna go pump for a day in the woods, ill hit liberty... Or if there's a big game....
Before you talk trash about someones playing style, you should take a step back and look at your own.... Because YOU may be the one in the wrong....
PM me when you plan on being at liberty next.... Ill show you how speedballers have no skill or just waste paint...
DeezNutz, i agree with you one hundred percent that speedball is the future of the sport, thats why all the big money tourneys with sponsors are done on those type of fields. I was sure my comment would bring some flack and i don't want to seem like i am one sided. I believe that there are two sides to the sport and it is a matter of preference as to which one you like the most. I was on a team ten years ago and have not played again until this year. When i was playing 10 years ago, all of the rentals were still pumps and the sport was only about five years old. Speedball i believe is what saved the sport as far as sponsorships because i think woodsball DID catch alot of flack for what it was, simulating war. The only problem was when guys left the field there were hundreds of cases of stupidity with paintball guns which created alot of flack. Speedball is sportier, its faster and easier to organize and i am in no way against it. I love watching it and used to love playing it. The guy that posted the first comment did it with so many false statements, it just ticked me off. Anyone who says they have to wait fifteen minutes to find someone on a paintball field in liberty is just a liar or simply lazy. I talk about his playing style based on what HE said, i also do not believe that it says anywhere in my post that speedballers have "no skill" so check your insecurities and relax. I just do not like when someone feels the need to lie because things didnt go their way and then feel the need to spread it on the internet and bash a field that's not bad at all.

Well, i would like to thank you for most of your comment,It is true we are not for the speedball plaYER. wE DID BUY AN OFFICIAL X-BALL SET UP, IT WILL RETURN IN THE SPRING. AND TRUE OUR SPEEDBALL FIELD IS SMALL, BUT AS MY STAFF SAID, WE ARE RELOCATING IT SOON. wE ARE ALWAYS STRIVING FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH nob AND PROS. i GUESS THAT MEANS SOMEONE WILL ALWAYS BE UNHAPPY. cHECK OUT OUR NEW SERVICE COUNTER, WE CAN BE THE FASTEST AROUND. OUR NEW FILL STATIONS ARE TOP OF THE LINE. NEW FIELDS ARE COMING, AS I ALWAYS SAY SEE ME AT THE COUNTER WITH YOUR COMPLIMENTS AND IDEAS. ANYWAY THANK YOU!
As most people have said, speedball is the future of the sport. It draws in the most people and it doesn't need that much room. As someone else said, speedball is also more spectator friendly. Even though liberty is a woodsball field, a good speedball field would be really nice. Like pb maddness's field only maybe bigger since Liberty has more room.
If you could get a full five man air sup field, i know that there will be a great turn out of experences tourny teams. With your location you would draw from everywhere.
Sorry the red "X" ball field you have already was in rough shape last year. and didnt you just get it? If i remember i think a couple of the bunkers were torn up by a weed wacker.
I know u cater to woods ballers, but if u pick a good new site and get some nice bunkers (good full 5-man set up or a 7-man) sunday morning would be rocking!
It just makes me sick when i need to drive to hogan's, atlas, del hobbies, etc. to find some quality tourny players, when we live around YOU.If you had a field as nice as Champions you would have to beat the tourny players away. (Champions has a nice field but i will NEVER go back there. the place was run poor at best especially there 1st 3-man, where i had to run onto a field w/o goggles to stop a 20 somthing meat head form beating up some 14 yr old kids)
Liberty is the first field i ever played at and i want to frequent you establishment but the way you speedball field was set up last year we could only really run drills.
Pick a site with MORE space! PLEASE!!!
no im not greg or max (who are they?)
Dispute: dude, liberty is amazing. its cheaper than the other fields, has many fields, is clean, and the know what their doing. go more than once, and give it a chance
