Saftey-There was no one chronoing guns or anything. Its ran by 16-17 year old punks.
Fields-Best part by far. Awesome grass, clean bunkers.
prices-Pretty good. 42 for a case of stinger, shot straight. 10 for field fee and all day air.
Rules: X-ball, coaching ramping all that good stuff.
Services:were not any.
Proshop: Need pair a gloves ? Hit this place up.
Refs: Or lack there off. No ref at all. It was play at your own risk.
Staff: It was bassically a bucnh of highshool students running this place. One of them accaully stole one of my headbands and refused to give it back. I had to steal back. They same staff member also threatened to beat me up and begged me to wrestle him when I said No. he made. THIS PLACE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Rating 2: this place is horrible, I will not be returning any time soon.
All in All, save your money and go to Encounter, better staff, saftey and you will have more fun.

-There was never any refs on the field. Except for when we played attack and defend, there was a single ref for 50+people.
-Not sure what your talking aboout with the hole gloves ordeal. BUt all they had in thier "proshop" was a pair gloves and some macroline.
-I'm sure if Mike was there I wouldnt have had such a bad expeirence
-Never rated daves, it would how ever be much higher than tpa. sorry

Dispute: There was no threatening. the two were just messing around and they had already known each other prior to this practice. nobody stole any headbands. he took the headband as a joke and after her saw that dom was getting mad he gave it back dom didn't have to steal it back. and as far as the reffing goes there was refs on the field. and the gloves comment was not necessary. the only reason he's saying that is because a couple of attack and defend players showed up and one of them got shot in the hand a few times and said that it hurt pretty bad. so one of the refs that was working was talking to him about gloves and brought him out a pair to show him what they were. and you rated crazy Dave's better and ive played there multiple times and i have not once seen a ref on there field let alone someone at least walking around checking up on things. Also the field is not run by high school kids as a matter of fact most of them are in college or graduated and there was an adult there also watching over things so to say that it is run by "a bunch of high school punks." is not true. |

Dispute: There are a number of inconsistencies and convieniently "forgoten" parts in this review.
First off, I was the ref that was there on the day in question. I'm 20, and definately not at the maturity level of a "16-17 year old punk." I did made sure that people there for OPEN PLAY were taken care of.
Secondly, Sundays from 10-5 are team practice days. Special rates and paint prices are given to those who chose to participate. It is assumed that those who pay the discounted rates to participate in team practice will coordinate among themselves. The person who made this review came to team practice WITHOUT a team and decided to jump on with miscellaneous teams, which we are happy to see people do. However, I've heard from multiple sources he felt he didn't get to play as much as he would have liked, and was upset because of this and decided to "get revenge" by posting a bad review. If you'd like to get in more playing time A.) Come to team practice with a team B.) If you can't get a team, be assertive and try your best to have other teams let you play with them, or C.) Pay the Open Play prices and have teams and games organized for you.
Third, there was not a game of "50+ people." I organized that game and split up teams and there were 28 people, split into two teams of 14.
Fourth, it must again be noted that the author of this review came to team practice without a team. Team practice is generally run without refs because these are tournament players who have mostly come to terms with how to play paintball safely. We trust that before you go out to play you chrono your gun, wear your mask and call yourself out. If you did feel there was an issue, you should have brought it to the attention of a staff member. I stayed with the open players throughout their time at the field and walked them through safety briefings and chronographing. Again, it needs to be stated that at team practice it is assumed that you will play safe. If not, you need rethink how serious you and your team take paintball.
Fifth, if one was to look around inside the trailer they would notice much more than just gloves. There are gloves, masks, lenses, pods, squeegees, macroline, hoppers and a good number of other small things you might need if something of yours was to break. Also, The previous pro-shop closed its doors recently and we're in the middle of moving some products over so yes, it might be a little bare but there is definately MUCH MUCH more than just gloves. Anyone who knows Mike, the owner of TPA, would tell you that even if he doesn't have it at the shop he can and will have for you VERY quickly if you wanted it.
As for this:
One of them accaully stole one of my headbands and refused to give it back. I had to steal back. They same staff member also threatened to beat me up and begged me to wrestle him when I said No. he made. THIS PLACE IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
If they weren't wearing a ref jersey or working behind the register they WERE NOT a staff member. It was probably a member of team TPA, and most likely it was in a joking manner. The author of this review came with a TPA regular, and the whole headband stealing issue was most likely horseplay in the staging area, assumed to be acceptable due to the company present at the time the situation took place. Consider it "giving the new guy a hard time," strictly in a joking manner. They probably thought it was alright because they knew the friend you came with.
Let it be known that if you EVER have a problem at TPA, LET SOMEONE KNOW. If we are made aware of something you feel is a problem, every effort will be made to try and solve it. Keeping things to yourself until you get home and can hide behind a computer does nothing but make others think less of you. |

Finally, someone of actual stature had made an effort to say something. I was sick of being harassed over the internet by the 16-17 year punks. I would also like to let you know that some of the tpa regs have been iming me, making various threats that where serious. They even went as far as making death threats on not only me but my family as well.
I’m assuming you’re the guy with the longer hair. Not sure of your name, sorry. Anyways, I was not aware of Sundays being team practice day and now I wish I would have payed more attention and realized this. I am not getting revenge on anyone. If I wanted revenge I would not go on a site like pbreview to do it. I would not even try to get revenge at all. I made an honest review on what really happened. I know there was not a game of 50+ players I thought people would see that as an obvious exaggeration.
When I talked about not seeing any chronoing, I was not saying I didn’t trust the players. I believe everyone there was shooting 300 and below but accidents happen. And on the off chance someone was shooting above 300 I would not want to be the person hit by that paintball. And I wouldn’t want to see anyone else get hit by the paintball for that matter.
I did not see anything other then a few pair of gloves and some macro line sorry, Nothing else really to say here.
The person who stole my headband was working behind the counter and actually took my money and gave me the case of paint. I did not feel as though it was a joking manner because numerous people said that I’ll never see that headband again. I know this will sound stupid but the headband was actually given to me by one of my good friends who lives in France. So it had some sentimental value. If it was not given to me I probably would have let him keep it. You can ask John or Anthony I have given away many things, to both of them. Everything from a cash money JT strap to HK stickers to a PBFashion sandana. Once again it did not feel as though he intended to give it back.
The reason I didn’t say anything until I arrived at home to say something is because the deep love that every employee and reg have for tpa. I feel as though I would have been ridiculed and looked over because you guys believe that tpa is the field to end all fields. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t. I am not hiding behind a computer. If you would like to call me to talk or anything like that, let me know. I am not hiding.
I will not be returning to tpa for several reasons. Reason 1 being that I was threatened yet again that I would be “walked all over on” and I would also be killed if I they saw me there. I was told by this by Anthony. I even have a screen shot of it and a copy of the hole IM conversation in which he threatened multiple times.
I would also like to let you know that verbally attacking someone over the internet is not the way to promote your field, *Cough Cough* John, Anthony and Berger. Please do not im me saying that your going to kill me or my family. Please don’t im me saying your going to leave Encounter fake reviews. Please don’t im saying your going to spam my feedback thread on pbnation. Please don’t im that regaurding anything to do with last Sunday.
Thanks,
Dom

DOM PBreview
I do not feel I should have to reply to this review as it is an exaggeration (straight out of this persons mouth). This review should have been removed some time ago.
Dom,
I'm very sorry to hear you did not have fun at the field that weekend.
As far as " I would also like to let you know that some of the tpa regs have been iming me, making various threats that where serious. They even went as far as making death threats on not only me but my family as well." These people that you speak of do not work for or represent the field. I will put a temporary ban on these players till some prof is presented to me in regards to these threats. In today’s day and age you can never be too careful about these types of things. IF someone you have befriended prior to coming to our field "You can ask John or Anthony I have given away many things, to both of them" have made such threats I feel you should notify the proper authorities about these people.
"Anyways, I was not aware of Sundays being team practice day and now I wish I would have payed more attention and realized this." Sundays generally bring in more teams as we offer special team prices for teams. The team practice times and pricing is clearly stated on the website and on PBnation thread. There are also several reviews stating team practice is on Sundays. I realize you are looking for a team to join by the comments you have posted on PBnation "I'll be there. I'll have white jersey on and a pink shocker. I'm in desperatre need of a team." & "Please let me know if any rookie team needs a player !?" and I assume that's why you came out during team practice was to find a team to join. You have subscribed to the PBNation thread for a long time now and I think you would know who's at the field on Sundays.
"I know there was not a game of 50+ players I thought people would see that as an OBVIOUS EXAGGERATION." To give the field such a BAD review and then expect people to know what you have posted was an "obvious exaggeration" seems a bit odd. What else has been exaggerated? The age of the people working there and the amount of refs on the field? Yep. What else??? Such as the "I did not see anything other then a few pair of gloves and some macro line sorry, Nothing else really to say here." There is a 4 x8 wall with goods on it and a display case with more items in it. There will be more goods offered as the season progresses however items are limited to the items that SELL on a regular basis as of now. For example gloves, guns, masks, lenses, pods, squeegees, macro line, hoppers/loaders, speedfeeds, hopper lids, batteries, barrels and a good number of other small things not on display. If you don't see an item you are looking for and I don't have it instock I can have it direct shipped to your house usually within 3 business days. All you have to do it ask.
As far as the head band goes, everyone is considered family at TPA. I guess they thought of you as family since you came with or are friends with people that at TPA on a regular basis. Players like to have fun while waiting for the next game to start. A good ribbing or playing keep away is just a couple of ways people play jokes and having fun. Comments made like "I did not feel as though it was a joking manner because numerous people said that I’ll never see that headband again." was all made in jest. If the person really wanted to steal it I'm sure it would not have been made available for you to retrieve. You got it back so there was nothing stolen. It seems it was more a playground game of keep away.
"The reason I didn’t say anything until I arrived at home to say something is because the deep love that every employee and reg have for tpa" Teams/players that come to TPA think of it as a home away from home. If you ever have ANY problem with the way things are going PLEASE bring it to SOMEONES attention while you are there. Everyone (including staff and players alike) will do WHATEVER they can to make your stay an enjoyable one, but they can't fix it if they don't realize you're unhappy with something.
Many of the comments & accusations in this review seem very harsh and by your own admittance “exaggerated”. I would hope PBreview would delete such false and misrepresented review.
-Mike
