The DBS outdoor field looks like it's undergoing some renovations and hopefully some improvements. On my previous two visit the two airball and one speedball fields have been closed and don't have bunkers in place which is contrary to what the DBS website would have you believe listing the grass speedball field as always open and the airball fields as available. The turf on the two airball fields is pretty well trashed, though unless you're willing to drive to SPD in Mt Vernon you're not going to find anything much better locally. The rec field is always open though is a little small, especially when you get over 20 people playing per game.
The staff are fair, friendly and willing to let you play other games if you suggest them and enough other people agree. The entry fees and paint prices are reasonable and the field allows you to bring your own paint for a $5.00 premium. Safety rules (bags and masks) are enforced, guns are chrono'd and checked for automatic/ ramping fire which is always a good thing. There is ample room in the staging area to store your gear with shade in a few of the areas if you get in early.
The location has a ton of potential, I'm looking forward to seeing what DBS does with it. |
